Dennis Green and that prolific Vikings offense deciding to play it safe and try to win in overtime in that '98 playoff game. No attempt to get in field goal range to win it in regulation.

See I think that is debatable. Not whether or not they'd win the next round, there's absolutely no way to know that, but isn't it possible that his confidence and psyche could have been permanently damaged after an entire offseason focusing on that play? One he should have not been a part of?

Apologies but why shouldn't he have been part of it. It was SOP to have a QB hold the ball on a FG because it added the element of faking it and throwing the ball. No one ever did but that was the logic behind it.

As for focusing an entire season on one play.....welcome to the NFL. He's not unique in that regard. All other QB's are held to the same standard, are they not. If Tom Brady makes a mistake like that in the post season, he's raked over the hot coals the same as Romo. Or Big Ben as well for that matter. And don't get me started on kickers.

Two words: Scott Norwood.

When most people read that they think of one thing - the missed FG in the SB vs the Giants. He was actually a great kicker. All people remember is the mistake. Yes?

Any player that can't handle that simply isn't man enough to play in the NFL - especially at a position that's high pressure like QB.
