Suh will probably sign some team friendly deal to join the Patriots.

Doesn't Clay Matthews play on the Packers?

Yep.

He's not at Suh's level, though. The second HGH testing goes into effect (if ever) Matthews becomes the next Shawn Merriman. He's very obviously "enhanced" right along with his old team-mate Brian Cushing (who hasn't avoided getting caught as well as Clay has).

No, it was a dismissive answer to your assumption that jealousy played any part of my reply.

The Lions are a nonfactor on a yearly basis to the point that I don't even consider them a rival to the Packers. The Bears, yeah, fuck them. The Vikings? yeah, fuck them too.

The Lions? M'eh, nonconsequential dicktards that will choke regardless.

I think you're just covering for the obvious fact that the Pack's roster peaked a couple of years ago, and a Super Bowl run is no longer realistically in the cards. It's gotta be hard to have been that good for a hot minute, then fall back to just another good team.

He's a one-trick pony IMO. He's a pass rusher and that's it. Suh can rush the passer, clog holes, all while wrestling a runner down with one hand. Their talent level isnt even close.

The Lions have been blessed with 3 true superstars. 3 guys who will forever be in the top 3 all-time at their position debates. Barry, Megatron, and Suh.

Thanks to a miracle 10-6 season saved mostly by Calvin playing 500 with Stafford all year, the Lions convinced Megatron to stay in town.

But they failed to surround Barry with tools needed to make that next step, and now Lions history is repeating itself with Suh.

But which fuck up is worse?

Losing Barry jump started a decade of diarrhea that ended with the most embarrassing season ever (0-16). But, Barry had been in the league 9 years. Suh is just getting warmed up.

The only silver lining here is that Martin Mayhew and Tom Lewand's days are numbered. Fans who get behind them now are just setting themselves up for failure and disappointment.

My vote goes to Suh because this organization clearly has not learned from their mistakes. That tells me the next time they go 1-15 or 0-16 and land an elite talent, they'll fuck that up too.

I can't vote on principle.

For starters, Ndamukong Suh doesn't deserve to have his name put in the same conversation as Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson. Barry and Calvin are easily top 5 all-time players at their respective positions. Right now it's way too early to even talk Hall of Fame with Suh. IMO there's a few defensive tackles currently in the league that are (slightly) better than him.

Beyond that, IMO you didn't lose Barry Sanders. He didn't go and play somewhere else. Now it's possible that he retired earlier than he might otherwise would have. But you literally got his entire HOF career.

I've been a Ndamukong Suh fan since his college days but the guy is a walking unnecessary roughness penalty waiting to happen every game. He was also reported to be a problem within the Lions locker room last season. Add in his contract demands and there's reason to consider him more trouble than he's worth. Not to mention you've got two other recent high 1st round picks on that same defensive line, which should be able to minimize the impact of losing Suh.

If the Lions aren't going to pay the man, they should at least look to trade him and get something in return. I'd hate to see you guys end up losing him the same way my Eagles lost DeSean Jackson.

This is the Lions were talking about, Don't expect the management to make any good business decisions. Mayhew is praying and banking on Suh and Fairley being in contract years to produce to save his ass then were right back to square one come December without two DTs and Mayhew saved his job for yet another year.

I'm sure the Lions have offered Suh fair compensation for a DT. I'm sure they offered him more than Atkins. He needs to shit or get off the pot. Either he wants to be in Detroit or he doesn't. If he's waiting for Gerald McCoy to sign so he can go bigger then it's still his fault, not the Lions. And my guess is half of you saying the Lions need to sign him no matter what will be bitching about the ridiculous amount he ends up signing for, if he signs.

you seem to be drinking the Lions kool-aid extra heavy. if you don't think a Super Bowl run is realistically in the cards for the Packers, then I question your football knowledge.

Barry. He left because they were not serious about building a winner.

Suh is just a business decision. No DT in the history of football is worth what Suh is looking for. And there probably never will be one.

Suh may not be worth it but he'll get it from some team.

He's not at Suh's level, though.

He isn't? How did he win the NFL defensive player of the year award already? He has only been in the NFL one year more than Suh. Heck -- even with battling injuries the last two years and missing 9 games -- he still has 20.5 sacks in the 23 games he did play.

Look -- Suh is a great player, and as I've said, he is my favorite player on the Lions. People on here though talk about him as if he is revolutionizing the DT position or something.

Yep -- completely agree. I also think he was offered more than Atkins, though I don't think it is necessary. If Suh's 1st contract wasn't so big because of where he was drafted -- getting the same contract as Atkins would be way more than enough to re-sign him, IMO.

Unfortunately -- I do not think Suh wants to be in Detroit and it doesn't matter what he is offered. I think he wants to be courted by teams, so they can stroke his ego and then go to the highest bidder in a location where it is good for his brand.

No DT deserves QB money. Plain and simple.....Let him walk and use the money to put together a E-ffing team instead of three superstars taking all the cap.......Suh has Albert Haynesworth written all over him once he gets paid.....He will be great this year.....He will get paid then stats will fall off....Fairley included......Fairley will do the same thing.

No, not in my opinion. Doesn't mean I don't think he's a helluva player though.

How did he win the NFL defensive player of the year award
Bc he had a shit ton of sacks on the team that won the SB that year. Players from winning teams tend to get more accolades than those from losing teams. Other than my opinion, you'd have to ask the voters why he won.

I can't blame Suh actually. You basically get the team of your choosing. Imagine getting to work in any major city of your choosing and getting paid millions upon millions as well. Same thing as LeBron basically. Stay in shit hole Cleveland or go to Miami and bang all kinds of bomb ass women in amazing weather. Personally I would have to choose San Diego, not cause I like the Chargers but perfect weather and hot ass women as far as the eye can see.

One more thing. This is all Millenhew and Lewands fault. They kept "kicking the can down the road". They wanted to win right away and didn't want to taste the bitter medicine of cap hell. No restructures and they could of easily franchised his ass and had leverage. They could of drafted Aaron Donald, had a little leverage. Everything Mayhew built, comes down to this year and this year only.

Personally -- I don't think you can go wrong with either player. I mentioned Clay Matthews because of the comment that no one is on Suh's talent level in GB defensively.

Isn't that how it should be? The players who lead their respective teams to winning season and playoff success (though I'm pretty sure the voting is held after the regular season, so playoff success doesn't matter) -- they should win the awards. Unless a player has an extraordinary season on a mediocre team and breaks some sort of record.

Matthews won the award for his play on the field though, so I would think winning that award alone in his 2nd year in the NFL speaks volumes about his talent level.

BUT, we will have an exciting offense to watch for the next couple years -- especially if Ebron learns how to hold onto the ball. Who needs defense anyway.
