There is a common misconception that the Midwest is not growing when in fact, it is experiencing growth...just at a slow rate...nonetheless, it is growing, including Ohio, which again is the 7th most populous state with 'assets which are apparent'.

Heck, even the state of Michigan, which experienced a population decline for seven consecutive years from 2005 to 2011, is back in growth mode, as it's population has increased the two previous years.

Again, IMO, it would be a wise move if the Big XII moved into the growing football hotbed of Ohio. And again, U of Cincinnati is a very large school with almost 43,000 students (large alumni base). Cincinnati and Central Florida would be a good combo pick-up for the Big XII.

One more thing. The Midwest is a much safer long-term area of growth than Florida. In approx. 25-30 years (perhaps sooner), the coastal real estate industry in Florida is most likely going to begin to tank. The rising sea levels are going to make coastal land owners sell...and these properties are going to be sold for pennies on the dollar. The only people buying the land will be the climate change deniers. In 100 years, the state of Florida will look a lot different geographically with the current coastlines under water, and in 250+ years, the entire state of Florida will probably be submerged.

The Midwest is growing, currently at a slow rate, but that will change when the population realizes the need to move inland, away from the coasts. The Midwest growth rate will certainly explode once the coastal exodus begins in another 30 to 50 years.

1. every state (for the most part) has population growth so the midwest growing is not a big deal

2. whats hurting b10 football demographically is not the population shift but the loss of so much blue collar industry. football & blue collar go hand & hand.
