BAYLOR - beat Northwestern State and Buffalo
IOWA STATE - lost to NDSU and Kansas State
KANSAS - beat SE Missouri State
KANSAS STATE - beat SF Austin and ISU
OKLAHOMA - beat LA Tech and Tulsa
OKLAHOMA STATE - lost to FSU and beat Missouri State
TCU - beat Samford
TEXAS - beat North Texas and lost to BYU
TEXAS TECH - beat Cental Arkansas and UTEP in close games
WEST VIRGINIA - lost to Alabama and beat Towson

Other than Oklahoma State and West Virginia, nobody in the conference has really played anybody. You can say Oklahoma State and West Virginia did good vs their strong opponents, but you can also say Michigan State and Wisconsin did good vs their strong opponents.

I think the SEC and Pac 12 have clearly shown they are fighting for top conference, and #3 is far behind. I don't think Big 12 has shown to be that much better than the B1G, and I don't think the ACC is better than the B1G.

What has the B1G done to prove they are better than the ACC?

It's the 3rd week of the season, jerms. This thread is better suited for week 8.

I'll say FSU is better than anyone in the B1G. I'll say MSU is the best so far in the conference. Then Virginia Tech is the #2 team in the ACC. I don't think they can beat Wisconsin. I don't think Louisville could Penn State. I bet Iowa is favored over Pitt in 2 weeks (even without Iowa's All American left tackle).

Pitt is good man. Being totally Objective they have looked better than Iowa from the small sample size we have.

And VT may be the 2nd best, but I think there are a few teams that may challenge that statement.

I'm not going to argue hypothetical situations. The B1G is 1-5 against the power 5 conferences, that much is fact. They have 5 more games this week. They are only favored in 2 of them. We will see how they do.

And Pitt will absolutely be favored over Iowa next week.

Iowa is only a 10 point favorite at home over a crap ISU team, meaning if the game was in Ames they'd be about a 4 point favorite. It goes without saying Pitt is much better than ISU.

So what I'm hearing is that it starts with the SEC and then everyone else?

The B1G is a dumpster fire, but has a chance to make the Big 12 jump in the dumpster also.

Sadly, it probably won't happen.

It's hard telling about Pitt. I don't think Iowa would have scored 62 points against Delaware, but I don't think Pitt would have looked any better against UNI. Ball State was a 10-win team last year. I'm still not sure how good Boston College is.

Is anybody surprised the B1G sucks? Without a real pipeline into Florida, Cali, or Texas recruiting its going to be tough.

WVU and Okie jr are unranked and played the #2 and #1 teams in the country. Okie Jr had a chance to beat #1 FSU and WVU beats #2 Bama if their WR's didn't drop so many balls. MSU was a top 10 team that was rolled against #3 Oregon and the B1G's other top ten team was rolled by an unranked VT in Columbus. Yes, Texas was rolled by BYU, but let's be honest, BYU would win the B1G this year. top to bottom, the Big 12 is light years ahead of the B1G.

I don't even want to say it. But I fear for a lot of teams in that conferences long term viability in today's cfb.

Kids are going to schools down south and out west more and more.

Unless you are ohio and maybe Michigan I would be very concerned. UM though has it's own problems. And jury is out on Wisky's coaching hire I would say.

Just because they rolled Texas doesn't give you the right to speak nonsense. They rolled Texas last year too. How did the rest of their schedule go? What's that? A loss to Wisconsin? Losses to Virginia, Utah and Washington too. Yeah, they're really scary.
