The first game that stands out to me is GB at Baltimore. Both teams are coming off of nice wins that followed narrow losses. Should be a good battle between GB's offense and Baltimore's defense.

The second game is NO at NE. NO is the last undefeated team in the NFC. Should be interesting to see whether they can win at NE against a Pats team that I thought was starting to jell a bit offensively before an abysmal game at Cincinnati last Sunday.

The third one that could be potentially interesting to me is Indy at SD. Indy looks like a legitimate top team in the league, while SD just lost at Oakland. Figures that this should be pretty easy for the Colts, but I think that SD is capable of giving them a tough game. Hope that Indy does win, because that would set up their game hosting Denver next week very nicely.

That Bronco-Jaguar game looks like a nail biter ;) Haha ok all kidding aside I would say the GB/Baltimore game has a little more behind it. NO and NE are most likely going to make the playoffs because their divisions are just not very strong. Yes a win is nice and seeing two playoff teams play each other is always a good game but for Baltimore/GB these are two teams that are fighting to stay in their division races. The race should come down to the very end so winning some of these tough games will play a huge role come end of the season. Plus it really is a great match up of a great offense against a great defense.

Perhaps you are right that the GB at Baltimore game will end up more significantly affecting the playoff standings than will NO at NE, but I think it's kind of early in the season to assume that. I mention that because I see a thread this morning about whether Atlanta will make the playoffs and another about whether the Saints have already effectively clinched the NFCS. Personally, I won't be too shocked if Atlanta gets back into that race. Not claiming that they will, but there just seems to be too many games left to make that call at this point.

I can understand that thought process for sure. I was more thinking of NE at this point. I know Miami has a winning record but honestly I just don't see with their OL troubles how they can hang with NE for the division. Yes it is too early to count anybody out I just think Baltimore and GB are borderline playoff teams at this moment and a win or loss could help propel or throw them further down especially GB as that NFC North division just looks tough this year. Baltimore a loss wouldn't be as bad since I don't think Cleveland can hang with the big boys in the long haul and the Bengals just keep shooting themselves in the foot this season.

I didn't know that Miami has bad injuries on its o-line. That's too bad, since it looked like they might be the best competition for NE in the AFCE. I wonder if the NYJ might step into that role. They host Pittsburgh and then NE, so that could be interesting in two weeks.

Honestly this looks like a pretty crappy week schedule wise. I guess NE/NO is the one to watch, aside from my own team. Could be a bit of a trap game for Indy with Peyton coming back to town next week. The Denver/Jax game will be interesting from a betting point of view, although I won't touch that one.

Not expecting your Bolts to even put up a fight against Indy? Any chance that it is a trap game for the Colts?

Packers/Ravens
Saints/Pats
Chargers/Colts
Seem like the only really good games this week. Lions/Browns could end up being a good game though.

Agreed. Just the Brownies going for four wins in a row might make that one historic.

Could be a trap game but I don't think teams ever look past a guy like Rivers, especially Indy. If the Chargers could avoid turnovers it could be an interesting game. They just have too many injuries and no depth on the roster, so while I will always cheer for my team, I'm kind of looking at draft position.

You just can't be considered a threat to anyone when you lose to the Raiders.

lol you Donks fans are killing me. just because you pretty much have a bye this week...:laugh3:

I tend to follow what's going in the league outside of Denver. I know that other Broncos fans and fans of other teams also follow the league beyond their own team. Doing that helps to understand, for example, how a team other than your own might go from, say a 4-12 season one year to open the next season 5-0.

NO @ NE is the marquee game of the week...NE coming off a tough loss...they rarely lose 2 in a row...if NO wins that one you can start talking about them being a serious contender for the SB if you didn't think so already.

Some other games I like;

CIN @ BUF, a game CIN should win, a good indicator if they're for real or not.

OAK @ KC, a bitter rivalry game, so far I haven't been impressed with Alex Smith or KC's OFC...DEF is stout...I wouldn't be surprised if OAK doesn't win this one.

AZ @ SF, another strong win by the 49ers and I think they will re-establish themselves as legit SB contenders. Cardinals should lose, but a DIV game and they have some playmakers.

I didn't get to see Cincinnati beat the Pats in what was apparently a defensive battle, I'm still not sold on them. The two games of theirs that I've seen are their win over Pittsburgh and their loss at Cleveland. They didn't look great in either game. I won't be shocked if the Bills win this one.

Interesting. Smith has been more of a game manager than a play maker when I've seen him, but he did make a couple of nice throws down field that I saw against TN on Sunday. I think that the TN defense was a pretty good challenge for him and he did pretty well. I would love for Oakland to really challenge or even beat KC at Arrowhead, but I'm just not that confident in the Raiders. Hope you're right.

Good point.

I am very concerned about the Colts against the Bolts. They have had our number for a long time. Maybe with Peyton gone, our Luck will improve.

Will Gronk play this week? I think that is pretty big.

I remember SD beating Indy in the playoffs a few years ago. It was a pretty big upset and I think it might have been the first playoff game that Rivers ever won.

I do hope that you guys win this time, though. I'm already looking forward to the game in Indy the following week. Who knows? Might be a preview of the AFCCG ... only played in Indy.

That game will be huge, strange, nostalgic, emotionally charged.....continue adjectives infinitum. I look forward to it and dread it at the same time.

I imagine that a lot of Colts fans feel ambivalent about PMFM's return to Indy. The great news for Colts fans, of course, is that sorrow or regret about the QB situation on the team won't be among the different emotions that they will presumably feel, since you guys got pretty Lucky.

First playoff win was against Tennessee. Next two against Indy (2007 and 2008).
