To be fair, he was open in the endzone when Dalton threw the ball about 10 yards too far in front of him. Seriously, the guy doesn't know how to throw a ball that the WR can run under and get to...he throws a line to a point and it gives the WR little chance to make an actual catch.

If he tries to put air under it and let the receiver go get it the ball usually comes up short and gets picked......I see what you are saying though......just not in Dalton's skillset....

Great read by Gilberry to key in on who kept the ball. Really, I would just tell all the DL to key on JFF and let theLB's key on the RB....

And yes, what a hit by Reggie to break that up. The middle of the field is open for Maziel to run, though...they need a spy, especially on 3rd down.

This is where he struggles with the deep ball...it's not about his arm strenght, it's about recognition. By the time he realizes his WR is deep, that arc-ball is short...He simply doesn't read the defense fast enough to recognize that his WR has 1-1 and immediately throw it to where the WR can run under it.

As you said, but the time he notices, it's shorted.

Though, I will say...it's better to over-throw, usually, than under throw. Normally, overthrown is just an incompletion...if you short it, it can easily be an INT.
