Depends on who's up for a new contract in Seattle. Lynch is rather expendable at this point in his career if his cap number is in the way.

You're probably right. He nearly retired last year so if he has surgery and gets released from Seattle would he want to go to another team for a one year deal? I doubt it. He's already got his ring so it would just be for money.

Most of the time a sport's hernia's doesn't need to be fixed right away if the player can tolerate the pain. But the pain does get progressively worse according to most and Lynch has been dealing with this for awhile now already.

Be interesting to see what Lynch wants to do. He could sit out the rest of the season and wait to see if Seattle can get into the playoffs and then try and gut it out in one final run.

The fact that he would be thinking of having surgery means he likely is looking at continuing his career after this season.

Just as a point of reference: Adrian Peterson played the last 6 or 7 games of his MVP season with a sport's hernia and then waited until the offseason to get it fixed.

As a RB...especially as physical as he ran, the injuries creep in and you lose that burst...those 3 yd runs that he turned into 8, become 2 yd runs...I say he hangs it up.

My favourite Seahawk.

Last year I was talking with a friend and said I was amazed Lynch has played relatively injury free and that time would catch up.

These bruising backs seem to have a shelf life that manifests itself suddenly. Marion Barber, Jamal Lewis, Green-Ellis, etc. Burn brightly like magnesium then turn to ash..

Lynch has lasted longer than most. If it is the end he had a great run.

No doubt.

If he retired he'd be 36th all time in Rushing yards. Not too shabby. Not HOF numbers, but still pretty outstanding.

I think so. Rawls makes like 500k and Lynch is coming to the end of a glorious career in Seattle.

If they release him and the price is right (incentive laden contract) I'd take him on the Raiders.

Watch the "new guy". Just as physical as Beast. Me wonders if PC and JS actually perfected cloning??/

It wasn't just the running style of Lynch that I liked.

I loved his complete disdain for the press.

Rawls may run n a similar fashion but he won't have the character of Lynch.

I admit. I kinda like that to. The press will love you but it can also burn you.
