the idiot is not worthy of drawing any more attention to his regrettable petition. Real fans want revenge on the Panthers next year and know that the revenge will be nowhere near as sweet if Cam does not play.

I've seen several articles on this stupid petition now and for each one, the comment section is littered with people jumping back on the "Seahawks fans are all bandwagoners" bandwagon and calling Seahawks fans hypocrites. Unfortunately, the price for having a successful team is that people pay more attention to everything both the team and the fanbase does and stupid crap like this feeds into how everyone else sees us. As a lifelong fan, I don't want to have anything to do with the guy who started this petition or the people who signed it, but fans of other teams have no problem lumping me in with idiots like this and that annoys me.

I don't think it's a double standard at all. Newton is the team leader and face of his franchise, and the QB. Different set of expectations. Nobody else in the league who is the team's leader, QB, or face of the franchise is behaving like Newton.

The best example is in the AFCC this past weekend. 3rd and 10, Brady takes off running, gets past the sticks and out of bounds, pops up and spontaneously signals first down with his right hand as he's jogging back to the huddle. If it were Newton, there would have been some grandiose "look at me" self-indulgent production about it. That's the difference, and it's plainly obvious.

I agree with you, but a petition to keep this blowhard out of our stadium is utter stupidity! It's football man!! This is what we want, the best to come into our house and wipe the smile off of his face. I can't stand him any more than anyone else, but going to the extent that these fans are have tainted the 12th man. I'm a Seahawks fan first and only, been since late 80's early 90's, and these "12's" need to go!
