Ban Cam Newton from Century Link? Like... Seriously??

And I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I got no personal problem with any player that is cocky or arrogant. Just don't call out another team's player for being cocky or arrogant when you have Richard Sherman on your team.

Oh I agree. Sherman backed it up just like Cam has backed up his confidence with his play on the field. Not every player in the league is going to be a perfect saint that is humble all the time and says and does the right thing every time. Every team has those guys who just irritate other fans and maybe even some of their own fans. There are times I shake my head when Talib says or does something. Doesn't mean I won't cheer for him as he is on my team and is a great player.

I think that ultimately Newton and Sherman are both nice guys off the field, and most of what they do is for show.

Apparently, there's a petition floating around requesting that Cam Newton be banned from Century Link Stadium. I've taken my swipes at Seahawks fans here and there, but...

...is the butt-hurt really THIS real in Seattle??

Are you serious? Anybody in their right mind wouldn't sign that petition. I bet they will have a hard time getting a hundred people to sign it. Most of these people are not "true" football fans, they know very little about any sport!!!

I think Sherman got humbled a bit after last year's SB loss, he seems to have toned it down a bit this season...or maybe I just haven't had as many opportunities to see him play.

I think that ultimately Newton and Sherman are both nice guys off the field, and most of what they do is for show.

Sherman has matured the last couple of years. Cam will mature in due time.

I actually read a story the other day about one of the boys he gave a football to had just lost his father to cancer and when Cam gave him that ball and he got on the big screen his family said that it just made all that he had gone through be forgotten even just for a little bit. Very cool in my opinion that he does that every touchdown. Almost didn't happen as I think Julius Peppers grabbed the ball and tried to throw it away but Cam chased it down to make sure to make one fans day.

I think the narrative on Cam is a little overblown. I know he is a confident guy that comes across as very cocky but I have definitely seen much worse role models in the NFL than this guy.

Well up in Seattle right now they have been without the Sun for quite a few months. That truly does wear on you. I remember living up there reaching a point that I couldn't stand that every day there was some rain. I just wanted a nice sunny day to go out and go for a hike but no for 10 months there just was no sun.

But coming out with a petition to ban a QB of an opposing team from your home stadium. Because he threw the 12th man banner or whatever it was down on the ground. You've pigeonholed yourself right into a "I'd call you a trfiflin bitch, but that would be too disparaging to triflin bitches everywhere." box with no way out.

Oh I don't disagree but again that was the same narrative that was said of Sherman a couple of years ago. He is a great guy off the field though from everything I have read. These guys are trying to build something beyond football and unfortunately many times it is that cocky attitude that will get somebody noticed a little more.
