Very true. I have a feeling there won’t be a letdown like they had after the Penn State game. They will be playing for their life, just like Wisconsin will. I think we will see the best of both teams.

I think it will be a good game, but I think OSU has more weapons on offense. The one thing that could change everything is if Barrett is out. Barrett has played in the big games and experience is huge. If Haskins is the QB — I could see Wisconsin pulling off the win, as I think they’d be able give him looks he hasn’t seen and pressure him into a turnover or two.

That's why we play the game. As a fan, I see my team in a slightly different light than non-fans. I realize that I have rose-colored glasses.

And don't go trying to smoke it, because it's not that kind of pole.

I want to know if JT or Haskins is going.

"JT comes back from vicious cameraman injury to win"
or
"ITS 2014 ALL OVER AGAIN FOLKS"

are both good story lines

I like the "Miracle on Ice" storyline. Ohio State is the Red Army of the B1G

OSU plays at a different speed than any team they have faced this year.

UM/Wisconsin was 14-10 (with 7 points being a punt return) when Brandon Peters left the game. UM looked defeated once O’Korn came in and our offense was horrendous. (Not that it was a high flying offense with Peters:pound:) Once UM’s offense fell completely apart and I think gained 1 first down with O’Korn at QB — Wisconsin just wore us down on the ground — they had the ball like 15 of the last 20 minutes in the game. I will say Taylor is a heck of a back though.

I think Wisconsin is a very good team, but unless they win the turnover battle or their defense scores for them — I don’t see them being able to keep pace with OSU. That is just my opinion from playing both teams.

Ohio State let you score 20 points with OKorn and a chance to take the lead at the end of the game but Okorn threw a pick. If Peters plays you could have beat them. You scored 7 points against the Badgers defense with Peters. After he was gone the game was over. If Ohio State let you put up 300 yards against them with Okorn my guess is that WI would have an opportunity to do better than that.

I like chaos in my College Football. Let's go Buckeyes!!!

Normally, I'm down for all kinds of chaos...but I really, really, REALLY would not like to see Ohio State win this one, for two reasons:

1) It opens the door for Alabama to get back in, or 2) for a couple of two-loss teams being in...one of which would undoubtedly be Ohio State.

Wisconsin has the best statistical defense, but what you are saying is correct. However, those rankings for the teams they played are also skewed by their performance against Wisconsin.
Yes but 8.3% of their schedule doesn’t take them from 44 to 101.

We do need to play a clean game to win. Ball control is a major component of our game. Wisconsin is 2nd in TOP. Again, maybe partially due to our weak schedule, but also the type offense we run. Also, I think I heard that we are #1 in 3rd down conversions. We will need to keep that up also.

Edit: we finished 2nd in 3rd down conversion

For sure — if Wisconsin is successful running the ball early — I would give Wisconsin the edge in the game. I think they will have a tough time running early, but if they are able to get some quick 3 and out drives from OSU, they can start running more successfully. I think getting quick 3 and outs on OSU will be tough though.

If a team has a chance to game plan for a week with a QB — of course they will be more successful. UM had about 200 yards of offense in 2 1/2 quarters with Peters. O’Korn and UM had about 30 yards of offense in 1 1/2 quarters. Hell, O’Korn was 1 for 7 for 8 yards in the 4th quarter alone.

His inept play is what killed UM. We only had the ball for like 3 minutes the entire 4th quarter. The longest drive with O’Korn at QB was 2:07. The guy is an abomination of a QB.

Peters wouldn't have done much better IMO. I can't see a drive that you didn't score on where Peters would've really made a difference. You scored one TD after a return that started at the 6, and your 3rd TD came on a drive that started at midfield. Your first TD was an impressive drive, but once our defense settled in, it was over.

it's tough for me to buy into the "Michigan did such and such to Wisconsin, but did more against Ohio State because Wisconsin is better" bit. There is no way you're going to convince me that the Michigan players approached those two games with the same fire.

Wisconsin might be better than OSU, I just don't think we'd learn much by looking at what UoM did against the two teams.

END OF THREAD

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't JT Barrett play during all 3 of Ohio State's losses during the last two years? So him playing doesn't 100% equal a win. Although, I am inclined to say that it USUALLY does.

If Barrett can have success throwing down the field and Ohio St can use their speed in this dome they can win. Keyword is IF. The OC has to call better plays than QB draw of handoff up the middle. They need to play like they did in the 2014 game, not score wise but having success throwing it through the air and setting up the run. The d-line (supposed one of the best in the country), needs to play lights out.

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not? O’Korn literally missed wide open receivers 6-8 times in the game. Multiple times on 3rd or 4th down and then his final throw was 20 yards from the nearest UM player.

I said if he doesn’t play, Ohio St wins. Chew said the same

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure JT Barrett didn't play Wisconsin during the Oklahoma game.

And that means what exactly? JT Barrett only plays good against okay teams?
