Avengers 4: Endgame (2019)

You thought the movie was a disjointed mess and pretty mediocre but you can't even tell the characters apart. Maybe you'd enjoy the movie more if you paid more attention

it was forced from a few different perspectives.

1. why did they need to transport the glove to the van in the first place
2. Captain Marvel could have fucked them all up, the fact both her and Thor lost against non power stone thanos is weird when they were able to take him with the stones...
3. why couldn't captain marvel just have put on the glove and snapped them all out of existence to start with?

and the answer is because it's a comic book movie trying to play to it's fans. again, i thought it was alright and it's made well over a billion, so it set out to do what it was going for. i have plenty of faults with it and don't rate it near the top of the marvel cinematic universe.

I agree. If they want to honor women they need to write and develop better female characters like Black Widow. She shows what a great female hero can be in he MCU. They don't need to pander.

Captain Marvel - does... stuff, and then we never see her again.
Witch - OWNS Thanos and then concrete happens?
B. Panther - was he even in this movie?
Spiderman - Hugs Tony.
Hulk - Turned into a brainy nerd that literally doesn't punch or hulk smash at any point.
Star Junk - doesn't do anything to redeem himself and is on screen for like 50 seconds.
Captain America - somehow wields a space blacksmith hammer and then his shield that you can't break, breaks.
Hawkeye - emo full 100%.
Black Widow - didn't take her clothes off.
Dr. Strange - I mean I got serious Captain Planet "THE POWER IS YOURS!" vibes here.

It was a Captain America and Iron Man emo movie... that's all. And fine, I'm whatever with it. But this movie 100% banked on a bunch of lazy/confusing CGI and the MCU name, and it 100% showed.

And these characters accomplished what? Saving half the population? I was all for half the population dying. We're overpopulated as fuck all and somehow Thanos is bad? That purple donger needs to change his name to THANKS, because that's what I'm giving him applause for.

Looking forward to it. I think she's WELL DESERVING of a movie (moreso than Captain Marvel). Love the character and concept. I hope and wish they'll make it rated R, but not a lot of faith in Disney at this point.

that said, i'm not here complaining about it. that would be the same as contriving a scenario that wasn't need for iron man and captain america to go deeper in the past to meet their dad and take a gander at their past lost love. also on iron man, these stones could kill every living being and bring a whole new generation about, it couldn't bring iron man back? really? again, it's all for the narrative, it is what it is.

I think it's pretty clear what Avengers did with Infinity War and Endgame when it comes to characters.

Infinity War put a lot of focus on people who will be the face of future, Black Panther, Scarlett Witch, Spiderman/GOTG, etc while obviously still using people from the old guard but they took a backseat in movie 1.

Meanwhile Endgame put a lot of focus on the original Avengers(plus Antman) and let the future of the franchise take a backseat in movie 2 to the people who die/may not be around much for future movies. It's not a coincidence that 0 of the original Avengers died in the Snap in Infinity War. Endgame was their last hurrah if you will.

i won't disagree. hell, it shoots to five years later because that's when a random mouse steps on a button of the high tech machinery that put Mr. Lang into the quantum realm, but was kept together in the van and etc... disbelief is needed. i get the hate for the fact that this seems lazily pieced together. i mean fuck, the fast and furious movies are making over a billion at this point. you just milk the cow and don't worry about the rest. if you want an indie movie, i got them for you.

while I love these movies it will be nice for a little break even tho spiderman is right around the corner. dont expect any significant movement in how next phase will go down in a Sony/Marvel joint picture. gonna assume the Disney+ Stuff will be a good indication of how things move forward with either a black panther or doc strange sequel hitting theaters fall/winter 2020. widows summer movie next year will be a prequel

then antman and the fantastic four in 2021. guardians of galaxy 3 2022. eternals movie 2021. then some kind of avengers secret wars in 2023
