Series Thread: Astros @ M’s - July 22-24

Astros just swept the Yankees in a makeup doubleheader.

This is a very very solid team so I’m thinking this is where the streak ends.

Hoping to get to 15 or 16 or just 2 out of 3 with these fookers. Gonna be a tough series

Game is sold out today for an attempt at 15th straight to match franchise record. Should expect a sold out all weekend.

Game 1 tonight is an important one. Urquidi is definitely the most vulnerable SP we'll see in the 3 games, with Verlander and Valdez in the next 2.

Winning the series will be very difficult, which is why it's nice that we've already won 3 others against them this year. Never know though, maybe this start will be one of those where we're able to jump on Verlander a little as has happened a few times before.

Taking 1/3 still wouldn't be horrible as this is one of the few really hard series' left in the schedule. Lots of time to get wins against inferior teams going forward.

Winning tonite may come down to how quick Servais gives him the hook.

Just saw tonites lineup. I am not so sure leaving out Haggerty is a smart decision.
I would have Haggerty in RF and DH Lewis and have Santana as a crucial pinch hitter ( he bats L/R ) option.

But that is just me

That's the key. I wish we had another option than Frazier, but it's a fairly solid lineup outside of that. I mean at least Cal can power one now and then. They can't just pitch around the handful of tough outs to slide through a couple of straight innings of fluff.

I'm still going to be pissed if they don't go out and get something before the trade deadline. I'd rather a pitcher or two, but give us something.
