Can anyone explain this lineup to me lol?

Why is Winker hitting leadoff? Even if he was hitting the way he was back in Cinncy, generally you want a guy who can run hitting leadoff. Then you have France hitting second, he can't run either. Then you have a slap hitter in Frazier at in the #3 spot in the lineup? Generally that's where you'd place a guy like France. Behind him you have a rookie hitting cleanup who is the biggest base stealing threat on the team. Then you have Suarez hitting 5th... I'll just stop here because the rest of the lineup is only getting worse from there.

Hot take: I actually think that Ty France is the best right handed hitter I've seen for the Mariners in the last 10 years.

I think his numbers are legit and he is by far the best hitter on this team, and the best hitter I've seen in a Mariners uniform since Robbie was in his prime.

Our relievers could not even hold a 1 run lead for a 2 minute at bat / or 2-3 pitches.

1st batter faced after Kirby gets yanked and BOOM - Home run ( Andrus in the 6th off Steckenrider ) Andrus is not even known for HR power.

Someone needs to teach Cal Raleigh how to help his pitcher by framing pitches. Last night I saw his glove actually touch the ground AFTER catching a strike, that showed as a strike in the pitch outline box. And it was not a curve ball - breaking pitch. He is a terrible pitch framer and no help at all to our struggling staff.

I noticed that as well. Steck threw two strikes to one batter and neither were called because he glove was flopping after the catch.

Vets (relievers) coming off career years regress back to norm 90% of the time. Mariners should have known that but they live in a fantasy world and want to take fans with them.
