Tonight the Scottsdale Scorpions lost 3-1

The Scorpions had 15 hits, but alas, were 2-16 with RISP. (Is Bam-Bam the hitting coach?!?)

The Scorpions are now 4-5 on the season.

Arroyo also made his 2nd error of the AFL, fielding, which led to a run scoring.

PSA for baseball and prospect junkies. Today's AFL game, starting at 12:30 PT, will be live streamed for free on MLB.com. It's the Scorpions (part Giants affiliate) versus Rafters. Adalberto Mejia will be starting for the Scorpions, who was terrific his last start. Arroyo will probably be back after a slight injury scare. Black has been the talk of the AFL too, among everybody. He consistently hitting 100-102 mph, and is drawing the eye of many people. I hope he pitches today.

Mejia's line looks worse than he pitched. Went through 4 IP, fastball command was on and off, but mostly on. He flashed a great changeup too. Went from 91-93 with the fastball. Also showed the breaking ball, mostly to steal strikes. The 3 hits he gave up were all bloopers. One should have been caught, but the CFer took an awful route.

Then came the 5th inning, clearly looked gassed. Couldn't put the fastball anywhere. Gave up a hard single, then 2 walks and was pulled. McCormick came in, walked the first guy, struckout the next, then gave up a 2-run single and another walk.
