If the Cali schools get the boot from the NCAA there's no way Washington will be in a conference with them.

Remember, the bill doesn't go into effect until 2023. The NCAA may have updated its own rules by then. If not, the Cali schools could still maintain their membership, but would be banned from postseason play.

Then they become the Wac because where will they get that same level of talent without it? More kids from Washington and Oregon? Get real.

So what you are saying is even more California kids would be leaving the state than have already have at a historical rate for top talent?

Exactly. End of the day, it's basically a minor league. What minor league players in any sport are making serious coin? Exactly, none. If these players think they're bigger than the universities they play for, they have another thing coming. Fan support of the sport will be gone like yesterday since the playing field will get even more weighted to the top teams if we start compensating them in any way. Fans of college football are tied to their teams because of alumni status and regional support, not because of specific players. Half the country could give a rat's ass about college football. It's not the same animal as the NFL and the money to pay them won't be there like they think it is. Less than 1% of these guys have any ability of going pro, so what endorsements do they think they're really worth? Ain't as much as their free ride they're getting for college I can tell you that.

On paper I guess it is a minor league, just because the student athletes exploit the tv contracts instead of playing elsewhere. But the definition of a student athlete is an internship which player activists will never admit. They will never admit that a student athlete makes as much as every other student on an internship or residency. There is more risk obviously involved in football but the earning potential is more than any other program in the country outside of Ivy League schools which don’t offer athletic scholarships.

Really? You are going full retard along with AG? :L

This isn't complicated stuff, or at least it shouldn't be.

Why do quite a few Pac teams do so well at getting decent talent from Cali? BECAUSE THEY GO THERE EVERY YEAR and are quite visible to the schools they build relationships with. Why did the conference struggle with going to 12 from 10? Because not one team outside of Cali would accept not having at least one guaranteed road trip to that state every season to keep those relationships flowing.

If you cut off road trips to that state the flow of top tier talent would surely start to propagate to schools outside of the Pac. More national appeal. You stop going to Cali, you stop getting as much of their talent. That is purely 100% fact.

California is going to have its own league if this shit goes through where only America hating teams will play each other.

1.) USC, Cal, UCLA and Stanford become automatically ineligible for postseason. (Emmeret wrote this warning to state Senate)

What about Fresno State, San Jose State, and San Diego State?
Or what about UC Davis, Sacramento State, San Diego, or Cal Poly?
And while we are at it, What about Azusa Pacific?
And for feck sake, what about Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Redlands, Occidental, Whittier, La Verne, Cal Lutheran, Pomona-Pitzer, or Chapman?

Elitist NCAA . . . As though only Cal, Stanford, Southern Cal, and UCLA matter . . .

All of them would be ineligible for postseason play if they ran afoul of NCAA rules. Doesn't matter about school size or division. Maybe they could cut a deal with the NAIA.

The nuclear option should still be on the table if they fuck up college football.

We're nuking the wrong people...we should nuke the NCAA!

If your likeness is worth something, you should reap it. If it's not, you shouldn't.
