Add the fact that we had 4 top 12 teams come to Morgantown and were following our worst season of the century, we should expect more.

Next year we will be on the other side of the spectrum. No currently ranked teams will come to town next year.

Seeing as last year was a pathetic performance, and this year started out promising, I should hope so. You can explain that difference in one game, there were 33,000 in Mountaineer field for that debacle at the end of last season. Maybe Holgorsen had a grand plan to have such a shitty year last year just so he could point to the increase in attendance this year as progress. There are VERY few teams who can and do fill their stadiums EVERY week, we are not one of them, and maybe never will be, the year Tressel took the fall at OSU, they went 6-6 and still filled up EVERY week.

Still a pretty good slate next year...Texas, Okie St, Iowa St, and Texas Tech.

I know it would be more exciting to have Uconn, Cincy, and USF coming to town but what can you do?

I don't believe the top ranked teams had much to do with the increased attendance this year. Had WVU not shown it could compete with Bama in the first game of the season, and had it not held on to beat MD, I don't care who would have come to Morgantown, the stadium would not have been packed.

Look how quickly our pathetic fans fell off the bandwagon... a top ranked KSU team played in front of the smallest home crowd of the year.

If WVU is winning big next year, I expect we'll see some nice crowds for whomever comes to town... just like the RichRod days...

DAD...here is some cold water for you ....and a riddle!!!...when does a team have a 9-4 season and it is chalked up as more pathetic than last year?.......answer!

West Virginia University Football 2010...

Stewart coached West Virginia to a second-straight 9-3 regular season record and a share of the Big East title (although the BCS bid went to the University of Connecticut due to a tiebreaker edge). However, for the second consecutive season, the Mountaineers played poorly in their bowl game, suffering a 23-7 loss to North Carolina State in the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Florida on December 28. The game marked a season low for points scored by WVU and season highs for points allowed, turnovers, and margin of defeat. After the regular season ended, it was announced that Stewart would coach the team for the 2011 season, after which he would step down and take a position in the WVU Athletic Department, and the head coaching position would go to Dana Holgorsen, who would spend 2011 as the team's offensive coordinator.

That year epitmozed just how low the program was even with a 9 win season!..When the Connecticut is your conference champ.........and you lose to a sorry program...by a field goal BTW...it tells you the state of the conference and your own program!..you should go back and take a look at that year DAD..talk about a horrific schedule..and FIELD GOAL wins and losses to Marshall and as mentioned UCONN:doh:

Maybe YOU should revisit that season, what you stated contains several errors, look through it and let me know when you find them.

He's simply pointing out what a hypocrite you are.

WHO is a hypocrite? We fired one coach because turnovers were so easy to coach out with 7 INTs and 24 fumbles, BUT make excuses for a coach who has 10 INTs and 27 fumbles................We fire one for losing a game to the conference champ because of?????, but make excuses for the current coach losing to the dregs of the league, one of which hadn't won a league game in three years...........

You brought up field goal wins/losses......I pointed to that specific season that the legend Billy Stewart barely squeaked by an average Marshall team and lost to UCONN by 3 points...........

NONE were as bad as losing to Kansas and IAST, talk about horrific losses..............at least this year your boy pissed away games against good teams rather than one of the worst in the nation.............

Who is a hypocrite? WVUDAD is the hypocrite!

I was with you on the CBS board defending Billy Stewart against attacks from stewmustgo, jimmiepens and others who wanted him fired from the time he was hired.

I defended Billy against all of the points you made above… you were defending him with me. You, mad, Slaton and Jeighmonee were Stewart's biggest supporters on CBS.

Now… you attack Dana for the very same arguments made against our former coach.

You are a very sad… pathetic… lying… son-of-a-bitch…
