Well, that should end the debate on trading Iggy as he didn't even make the list
/However, I don't know how Ryan Getzlaugh can have more trade value that Pavel Datsyuk.
Tavares at 5 ahead of Giroux!! How do you like that Flyers fans. LOL!!
How a player like Yakupov who hasn't played a single second in the NHL can have more value than guys like Iggy who aren't on the list is beyond me. I don't care what's expected from him, he hasn't done anything yet.

If the Penguins are comfortable giving Crosby a 12-year contract extension with no insurance coverage in the event of another head injury, then I am comfortable ranking him at number one. He’s the best player in hockey. Even die hard Flyers fans would have to agree with that.
both of those would be contract related.
- Yakupov IS a big league talent. there is no doubt about that. and you get him for 3 (or more) years on an entry level contract.
- Tavares is locked in as underpaid for the next few years. Giroux is going to get a whopper of a contract after next year.

PLUS you get four Philly first round picks when the ELC expires!
Signing Weber to an offersheet worked out well didn't it?

Age would be my guess...
Not as well as we hoped, but ultimately we ended up losing nothing but the "opportunity" to vie for his services next year, the competition for which would have included an already obnoxiously defensive Rangers team and a Pittsburgh team which has cap room to BURN. And in exchange for that "chance," we gain the knowledge that the only time we'll have to see him more than twice a year includes a run to the Stanley Cup Finals? Yeah, that sounds alright to me.
It cost us zero unless it worked, and we knew what it would cost us if it DID work (four firsts, a shit ton of cash, and whatever it would cost to convert the boards and glass to turnbuckles and ropes whenever the Wings came to town). It's not often in sports you get an opportunity to take a shot for a player like that on another team at a price you get to set, so, you know, take the chances when you get 'em.
I understand why they did it. However, there could be consequences down the line. The Flyers better get Giroux signed before the end of his current contract. Some team, probably not the Predators might do the same thing to them. Detroit is going to have a HUGE need at Center in a couple of years.
I have no doubt that we will sign Giroux before the end of his RFA. If we don't, and somebody offers him, well, turnabout is fair play. Just because nobody uses the offer sheet doesn't mean it shouldn't be used. It'd make free agency a HELL of a lot more interesting, wouldn't it?
