QB is key, defense second and coaching most of time TB changed that with Dilfer

I disagree. To me having a great defense is the most important thing any football team can have and we have seen that play out, over and over again.

The fact that Brees and rodgers have been able to win playoff games, let alone super bowls with the teams they play on is remarkable.

Luck is on that same career path. Wilson has the career path of Tom brady which is something Seahawk fans should be thrilled with.

To me an elite quarterback is able to win football games in the regular and postseason with minimal help around him and do it on a consistent basis. That's an elite quarterback to me.

You feel Luck has won in the playoffs? Just how successful has Brees been in the playoffs? Other then that one good run. Rogers really hasn't been great in the playoffs. Remember that 15-1 team losing at home to the Giants?
Etc etc..

Drew Brees and rodgers aren't great in the playoffs? Really?

Lets ignore the playoff games they have won since they were both great in those.

Brees in his 5 playoff losses has 11-4 td/int ratio. He's lost playoff games scoring 36 and 32 points. He lost a playoff game throwing 4 td's. Drew Brees is an elite postseason quarterback. Yet he's only 6-5.

Rodgers is his 4 playoff losses has 9 tds and 3 picks. He's completing about 65% of his passes and his scored 45,20,31 and 20 points in those playoff losses.

But yeah, they suck in the postseason.

A quarterback can only do so much and Rodgers and Brees have been plagued by a lack of support come postseason time.

Rodgers esp, Brees and Luck have carried some teams. Peyton has wilted so far in playoffs , and Luck so far, Brady and Wilson are winners both in college and pros

Come now, even you will admit they haven't been special in the playoffs, when it comes to wins and loses. You just want to forgive them for losing and use the same tired line...it's not their fault...it's someone else's fault.

Rodgers is #2 in playoff career passer rating and Brees is #4. Before the Niner game last year the Packers gave up 45 points per loss. Not sure how that's on Rodgers. These guys are just in a situation where their teams are going to lose if they average 143 yards per game in a playoff run.

How is it their fault when they are putting up numbers like that in postseason games? All time great numbers i might add. What more do you expect from them? On top of that, they don't turn the ball over in postseason either like Luck has to this point.

You wanna blame them and then give credit to Wilson for winning playoff games throwing for 143 yards no tds and completing 50% of his passes?

Worse. Their in a situation where if they don't play great they lose. Not even being good is enough.

Wilson is the exact opposite. He can be mediocre and below average and still win comfortably.

Yep a 127 QBR in SB flawless on 3rd downs vs a QB that turns it over 4 times. Thats right Denver has no talent

So now your saying they don't have win in the playoffs, because it's not their fault. Dude they failed your standards.

I thought you said win in the playoffs "CONSISTANTLY".

But REALLY, what you meant was "an élite QB is a QB who puts up big numbers in the regular season, makes the playoffs regularly, but only wins once there when his team is really good."

Rodgers started off like 3-17 vs Buffako and Peyton 1 td and 2 picks. Team sometimes fails the QB. Rodgers is still MVP great year

And puts up big numbers in the postseason and loses, not because he played badly but because his team was shitty.

When a quarterback throws for 4 tds, runs for another and scores 45 points on the road in po game and still loses, you know something's wrong. Or the fact that Rodgers has thrown more tds than interceptions in all of his po losses tells you something as well. Or the fact that he has had a quarterback rating of 121, 79, 92 and 98 in his 4 playoff losses tells you something. It's not the quarterback that's the problem.

Nobody is gong to argue that Rodgers isnt élite. But what you just said here is a far cry from Luck in the postseason.

Teams win and lose games not just QB's. Quit watching ESPN and being brainwashed by idiots like Skip Bayless. Just saying.
