Not with the 5 season limit. I mean shit, there has to be some positions that they haven't even had 5 seasons
I missed that part. Yeah TB and AZ are going to be tough. Colorado won't be easy either, especially pitchers.

No matter how you look at it, the Braves are NEVER the first team alphabetically.

So, are we going to have a consensus team or just keep omar's... If we are just keeping omar's then this experiment is going to be a waste of all of our times...

I think fans of said teams should have the greatest say in the final roster. They know the players better than anyone else. And numbers are not the ONLY thing here.

Of course anyone is eligible and encouraged to comment and debate. Why are my teams a waste of time?

sorry, not what i meant... what i meant is that at the end of each, we should be creating the team the consensus team, if we just keep your team from the beginning then what was the point of all the discussions we do in the thread...

Just to debate it. I wasn't really interested in getting a consensus. I'm just giving a general frame to work with, and others can comment and debate it from there

and omar, i would love to know why you think Smoltz is so much better than glavine... I have glavine to be better, i can kind of understand why people would like smoltz more, but how is it not even close??

But whats the point of a debate if there is no conclusion...

It's not not close like comparing John Smoltz to Aaron Harang. But Smoltz had a better WAR, ERA, FIP, xFIP, K/9, and BB/9. Smoltz was significantly hurt by wrongly being used as a reliever for a while, but I don't hold that against him

See, i look at prime over careers... Also, it is interesting how different fWAR and brWAR is...

for example, Glavine had 14 seasons with 200 or more innings, 6 of those 14 seasons he had below 3.00 ERA, and had a WHIP below a 1.2 4 times

Smoltz had 10 seasons of 200 or more innings, with a below 3.00 ERA 3 times, but had a WHIP below 1.2 7 times...

To me, this is extremely close... one had better ERA, while the other had better whip... Smoltz was the better playoff SP though...

Smoltz being a closer opens the door to have both him and Glavine on the team, and Chipper playing nearly 3 seasons in left field when Vinny Castilla was acquired opens the door to have both Chipper and Eddie Mathews in the lineup.

But, for the record, Chipper>Mathews, but I like having them both in the lineup.

Yeah, but you're still right. Atlanta is alphabetically ahead of Phoenix or whatever city the Diamondbacks play in. But I noticed you have Spahn and Adcock in there. I think their careers ended before the Braves moved to Atlanta.

Well, I guess you're not completely right, because I think the Angels are in Anaheim (or are they?)
