Just because Hyde was ranked ahead of Hill doesnt mean that he is better.... Hyde is slower! Hill hits those holes faster is just as physical and played in a Semi Pro SEC against future pro stars....I like that Hill kid and just as I said Burfict would be a star...Hill will be a star...Laugh now but buy his damn jersey later...

Only reason I preferred Hyde over Hill..the rap sheet. Tired of the questionable character guys they said they were transitioning away from winding up getting drafted over comparable talent guys with better character. SF had zero issue grabbing Hyde, and preferred him over Hill.

It was only a question of character for me.

Hill is a beast and will be a star if he stays out of trouble. Quick to the hole and runs over people. Averaged 6.9 ypc running between the tackles.

DeDe Dorsey averaged over 7 yards per carry and he was not even able to make a practice squad, and that was 7+ average in the NFL! :) Just saying.

Hyde had some issues at OSU, as well.

The big knock on Hyde, from Jackson, was that the offense used at OSU doesn't compare to what he'll be asked to do at the NFL level by the Bengals. He went to SF and that is a perfect fit from where he is coming from. Hill played in a more traditional offense at LSU, one that compares to the Bengals.

It was more about how the player fit into the scheme than anything. I'm sure they were both highly rated on the board, and when you have two players that are basically rated the same, you would be wise to get the one that fits what you do better.

Dorsey signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on April 29, 2013.[2] He was released on June 22, 2013.[3]

DeDe would have made it if we converted him to safety.

I was just saying, Dede could have been a failure, but no one ever gave him a chance to fail is the problem. Dude was a beast on special teams, blocking kicks, could catch the ball in space, great initial burst, had average power, above average top end speed for the position and he could pass block.

I honestly did not see any reason teams did not give him a legit chance to start 6 to 8 games just to see what he was capable of based on those things and the fact he was averaging over 7 YPC in preseason against NFL teams.

Apparently, he didn't show enough in the limited time given.

There are other NFL teams out there, and nothing he did impressed them enough for them to sign him and give him more chances.

Sucks, but dude just wasn't good enough.

Didn't you hear? It's because he 'banged a GM's wife and was blackballed from the league'....all leagues apparently.

NOT because he sucks.

Damn BUTTON. Can someone please fix my sarcasm button on here? Some of the less fortunate can't read between the lines.

I liked Dorsey alot as a RB, I know I am on an island there. I am not advocating we should sign him now, or he should have been our starting RB for 10 years. However, he was solid, always made plays on offense and special teams, but never seemed to get touches.

Some guys do not practice very well at all, but when game time comes, they have the inate ability to turn up the juice. I think Dorsey was one of those guys. Because he blew in practice, his opportunities were limited. Give him the ball during a game though, and he could play ball.
