Am I the only one who has faith Ian Kennedy's HR/FB% normalizes and is a useful starter while the Royals window with the current core is still open?
I think he'll be better than last year, but still a bad contract in terms of money and giving up a draft pick, IMO

Omar is a stat geek and a waterboy. Doubt he even made to RF as a kid growing up. He thinks Pujols had an awful year last year and he sucks.
So you're saying knowledge about baseball can only come from playing it? (By the way I was on some great high school baseball teams. Played with players who are now starting at the collegiate level).

I tend to disagree and think the Angels can deal better with pujols than twins can with nolasco cause they had 100 mil more in revenue last year Lets face it all these 10 year contracts are not real good but the big money teams can deal with them:suds:

Finally someone understand revenue vs. payroll. Hell if AP has a stud hitting behind him @ $30 million/yr who knows how many better pitches he sees. Now the guy could have more walks, but if 40 HRs and 95 RBIs is awful in a year where you are hurt 1/2 the season... Maybe Omar is looking at it from his MLB Xbox franchise??

And yes, Pujols did have a very mediocre year last year. That's not debatable.

Go back a few days ago where you said it was an "awful" year for AP.

Yes, for Albert, it was awful. Mediocre by normal standards. Do you understand?

In all fairness, he did say Pujols had an awful year 'for him.' It was the 2nd worst year of his career.

By MLB 1B standards, his 2015 was pretty mediocre (the average MLB 1B had a .260 AVG and .790 OPS).

Check back with me in 4 years when the Angels are paying Pujols 30 million a year to produce a .650 OPS and the Twins are debt free

You mean when the Angels will be making about $100 million more than the Twins per year?

Gee let's do the math here.. + 100 million - 30 million AP contract = $70 million more than the Twins.

Add in the Hamilton and Wilson contracts and that difference all of the sudden evaporates rather quickly.

Albert was playing hurt 1/2 the season. It wasn't a great season for him, but you can't expect the guy to have the numbers he had 10 years ago. I can tell you 40 HRs and 95 RBIs with the bad leg for him was pretty good and he would tell you that as well.

And I like how you give credit to Trout and how he's "on his way to be one of the best".. Guess who hits behind him since day 1? Guess who will go down as one of the best of all-time before Trout? Can you guess how many more good pitches Trout sees than AP? Can you tell me the idiots hitting behind AP the last 3 years? Do you have any idea how much easier it is for Trout by having a guy like Albert around to help him?

Let's see if you can actually answer a question.

Anyone with a clue about baseball understands these things.

I'm sure that "protection" has only been weakly correlated to better performance from a hitter

Hamilton contract is awful. CJ was at least having a decent year last year. Still even those 3 together and you are even with the Twins. So I rest my case. The Angels have a lot of dough to throw at FAs, they just need to stay away from the former Rangers!

At least you can understand math and revenue. Goodness

This is how dumb you are. Trout sees a shit ton more of strikes than Albert. Strikes are easier to hit than balls out of the strike zone.

And imagine that.. You ignore all questions asked to you.

I bet you were some kind of waterboy on those great high schools baseball teams of yours.

Do you have any quantitative data to support this? Seriously dude, STFU. You posted on another thread that you only watch baseball in September. Do you really think you can hold weight against people who follow and breathe baseball year-round?
