Soler doesn't have any option years left - the Cubs burned two and the Royals used the third. He'd have to go on the IL and sent on a rehab assignment to work on things in the minors.

Yes, considering how pitchers are used now, the 5 inning rule for the first pitcher on record in the game to get a win is pretty archaic.
