You still haven't explained how Bama is faster than Notre Dame, which is what you called me out on. If you look at both rosters, Notre Dame is nearly uniformly faster in the 40s than Bama. Bama may swarm, and lord knows they have a talented roster, but both sides of ND's roster face faster units every day in practice. If Bama wins, it is because they are powerful, disciplined, and well-coached. Speed is the one area where they are likely at a disadvantage, and yet it is the one area of their game that message board "experts" hype.

And FWIW, there were more Pro Bowl linebackers from the B1G last year (2) than the SEC (1). I'm not sure where these SEC super linebackers are.

:couch2:

It's not SEC speed, it's SEC awareness! :pound: The excuses y'all make when numbers prove you wrong are priceless! Example:

I forgot you have never seen an SEC defense. If you dont know this by now, than good luck taking this loss well.

Think like this: Expect a blowout and you might get a close game.

Do you got links for these? The NFL Draft sites (who obvious are not universally accurate), all say they are in the 4.6 range.

i know the B1G has good LBs, that is LB conference. And I didnt say Pro-Bowl. I am talking about NFL starting LBs from SEC all big and the fastest you will find---Mayo, Hightower, Spikes, Willis, Upshaw, etc.

I can go through the whole Bama ND roster if you want, the SEC is the fastest conf. And you know it, I am not saying ND is slow juat not more explosive and get off the ball like Bama.

I took them from Nfldraftscout. I took low 40 time from every player ND and Bama. Same site.

I took all times from one site and compared them. Different sites will also have different times.

Riddick 4.42 200, Wood 4.4 215, Atkinson 4.4

Lacy 220 4.42 ,Yeldon 4.35 220, Hart 4.4

Not much of a difference. Dont see how ND has edge...ok, we will go on.

I've watched ND play every week, but you're right I'm sure every SEC defense outclasses ND. Especially the SEC runnerup Georgia's run D. It was just stellar.

 The it's the SEC argument is simply a cop out.

If you really think that Lacy can match George Atkinson, who has run a 10.30 100, I don't know what to tell you. He is clearly slower than Cierre and Theo as well. Yeldon is fast. Probably not as fast as GAIII, but faster than the other two ND backs.

In general, these 40 times are pretty questionable, but that is to be expected. We'll never really know until the NFL combines take place for the various players.

ND secondary CB Jackson 4.35, CB Russell 4.55, S Motta 4.44, S Farley 4.47

Bama secondary CB Milliner 4.36 CB Belue 4.5, S Sunseri 4.52 S Lester 4.48

Looks pretty similar, I will go to D-Lineman.

They wear you down, you can play a good half. And it gets to you, then they hit w/ a couple playactions and they can put up 14 points in a matter of minutes. ND cant score like that.

ND has some fast and talented RBs that is their strong point on offense. And Lacy is a quiet fast, he can fuckn run for how big he is.

Here are the fastest combine times by position for Alabama and Notre Dame opponents (in 2012) based on the last four combines:

QB: 4.59, 4.67
RB: 4.38, 4.40
WR: 4.42, 4.36
TE: 4.62, 4.40
OL: 4.47, 4.43
DL: 4.73, 4.66
LB: 4.54, 4.58
S: 4.47, 4.43
CB: 4.34, 4.28

If it looks like ND has scheduled traditionally faster opponents, it is because they have.

And in the last seven combines, exactly one of the fifteen fastest linebackers has come from the SEC (Patrick Willis, who was tied for 11th).

Looking at the two biggest games:

Stanford and Oklahoma. ND scored 10 of their 13 points in the fourth quarter and 20 of their 30 points in the fourth quarter respectively.

TAMU and LSU. Alabama scored 7 of their 24 and 7 of their 21 in the fourth quarter respectively.
Adding Georgia. Alabama scored 14 of their 32 points in the fourth.

Notre Dame's offense can't wear you out like an SEC offense though.

You cant go anywhere if you drop and ball or cant find the hole, it does you no good.

I'm not debating that the SEC is a better conference in general. They have consistently proven that. What I am saying is that any notion that Notre Dame will be run off the field because of Bama's speed is ridiculous. All that you have done is prove that the times of Bama (which are extremely generous in certain places) and ND are about the same.

Bama is a great team who has a >50% chance of winning. Unless ND has a turnover parade, it won't be a blowout.

If you are comparing Oklahoma to LSU and Texas A&M its a joke. I will give you Stanford but its 10 pts...give your team a pat on the back for that one!

T A&M will destroy Okie. They arent that good, ND fans can stop that talk. And LSU and Texas A&M would both beat Stanford. What you dont understand is teams like LSU and Bama thrive when they play ground and pound teams like Stanford and ND. And nobody in the nation can stop Texas A&M right now.

I hope you arent playing Bowl Mania. Or its a :ss: show
