I like Freeman. Probably won't hit for much power, but he has an intriguing hit tool and he's tough to strike out. I feel like low strikeout rates in the minors are generally a good sign

Some of these guys are also infield/middle infield guys, so if they can give you a 100-110 wRC+ and play competent defense/steal bases they're likely above average starters. Hopefully they'll hit for more power than anticipated, some guys with good hit tools end up hitting for more than expected. See Kevin Youkilis, Mookie Betts and your very own Jose Ramirez

1-0. But Royce already hurt. Unreal.

Lopez was Lopez. Royce was Royce all through the injury.

Hopefully this is a sign of a good Correa year. Buxton didnt get hurt i guess.

Game flew by.

Some real unimpressive at bats from both sides. Or great pictching. Idk.

New announcer guy > Matt Shepard

Hopefully the signings of Canha and Urshela pay some kind of dividends besides blocking prospects so their clock starts later. Canha at cleanup doesn't exactly strike fear

Lineup caught me by surprise today. Was not expecting Urshela at leadoff, Tork second and especially not Canha at cleanup.

Hoping it was just situational against a left with a lot of action.

Crochet today picked up the Sox first QS from a lefty in almost two years. lol

Only the third lefty in AL history with 8+ Ks and no walks on Opening Day.

Carpenters splits are not good against lefties. But to me you gotta get him some reps for at least half of them.

Is Greene going to be in left this year?

Could be one of the better left fielders in baseball if he is imo.

Im already gonna kill myself by mid may

Twins start opening day with Margot, Farmer, Castro, the corpse of Carlos Santana

Because Julien, Wallner, Kirlioff all in their mid 20s are not allowed to hit lefties.

I get platooning but I assume they eventually want these guys to be mostly every day players right lol

Rip off the band aid

Exactly. Shit give it a few months and if they cant do it platoon more when games matter.

At least Ragans is a good lefty. But all signs point to another year long trend.

Tigers are going to be like Cleveland. Staff is going to be really really good. Offense is the big question mark

I think we end up seeing both teams shuffle young bats up in hopes to get something going.

I feel like Detroit has long struggled in April with their bats even when they were good (they had a lot of Hispanic players and seemed like miggys worst month was often April )
