MLB made the call again. Twins cannot win this division.

Yet another absolutely atrocious overturn fucks the Twins. The league needs to be investigated for tampering.

First of 8 September games goes to the Guardians

Gotta give the Twins credit for fighting back- they even got to Karinchak.

These teams are going to HATE eachother by the time these 8 games are over.

I think the Guardians are in some shit though

18 games in 17 days and no Civale and Plesac.......they are just piecing together the starting rotation right now.

Def. could have used one in a deal- most of the young guys arent quite ready yet

Morris is good but he just started playing again and is not stretched out at all.

Plesac being out of the rotation gives somebody else a shot to go 4-5 innings and give up 3-5 runs.

He shot his shot his last time out. Good time to take a break.

he is not bad----

his bad starts are usually not terrible

he had one really good run this year and was looking like he was getting going again.

I am not saying he is some huge difference maker- but at the end of the season without a great alternative with 18 games in 17 days its not good.

Guardians young guys mostly arent ready yet.

I know Cody Morris is jumping in the rotation but he just came back from injury and is like a 4 inning max guy right now. He has not been stretched out at all.

LaRussa needs to get back to the White Sox ASAP.

Honestly - unfortunately I think the White Sox win the division. Most talent in the AL Central- and they should get Anderson and Robert back soon- 2 all star caliber players. Cease is prob. the 3rd best pitcher in the AL right now behind Verlander and McLanahan for the Cy Young. Lynn is pitching great.

Good win for the Guardians tonight against Minne.

With Mahle and Buxton on the DL Minnesota's firepower seems to be reduced. Gray is also dealing with injury issues. Their SP seems to be kind of a mess right now.

White Sox seem to be peaking at the right time.

Guardians only have 3 reliable starters right now themselves- though all 3 are very good pitchers. That, and their bullpen might be enough to hang on, but if Chicago really finds their groove- neither the Guardians are Twins are beating them.

White Sox are better without Anderson. Dude is a problem.

I'm glad I can finally stop getting upset about the gutless, zero discipline twins team. Swept and gone. Good riddance. By you useless trash of a coach.

5 more games against the Guardians.

Honestly I think the White Sox are the most talented team in the division by a decent amount----- but LaRussa might be back soon which will kill them. lol.

Guardians got lucky this weekend with their rotation lining up perfectly against the Twins--- now its 2 holes for the next 2 days.

Brooks Lee, the Twins #1 draft pick, has a good glove, a great eye at the plate and is a really nice, humble kid. I had a chance to talk to him after today's game and he looks like he'll be ready to contribute at the major league level in a couple of year.

On the bright side, there is no chance Baldelli survives this.

Absolutely pathetic showing by the Twins over the weekend. A couple of failed comebacks and moral victories aren't going to count in the standings.

If losing the division gets ownership to get their heads out of their collective asses and rid themselves of the geeks in the front office and the geek manager, I'll take it. But I don't see that happening because the Pohlads don't care about winning as long as they are relevant and making money.

Depending on his contract status, I think you are wrong. The Pohlads have hung onto managers for the simple reason that they don't want to pay them not to coach, because they view that as a sunk cost.

  • While terms of his contract weren’t announced or reported at the time, Twins skipper Rocco Baldelli inked a four-year contract when being hired for his managerial debut, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports (subscription required). The deal also has multiple club options. It’s a show of faith in the rookie manager and a departure from the manner in which Minnesota has previously operated, as Aaron Gleeman of Baseball Prospectus notes (Twitter link). Under previous management, the Twins typically only issued two-year pacts to skipper Ron Gardenhire, who was one of the game’s longest-tenured managers when he was dismissed from the organization. And Paul Molitor, whom the the Twins ousted to make way for Baldelli, was one season into a three-year contract when the Twins ultimately changed course.
so they have club option for next year

Forget about season end for a hopefully Baldelli firing.

I seriously dont understand how Tommy Watkins hasnt been fired in the middle of a game yet. He quite literally the grandest combination of fat and fucking stupid I have ever seen. Get his fat fucking ass out of the organization.

Jose just hit a 2-run homer to put the Baseball Team up 5-3 in the 8th. It went out in a hurry.

So,

All the Twins have to do is win 4 out of 5 in Cleveland to be 1 game back afterwrds?!?!

Sounds doable! Only have to start with McKenzie and Bieber again!
