Is Clase putting together a Cy Young argument?

Lugo, Burnes and Skubal have been good- but I wouldnt say any of them have been over the top dominant.

Nope. For a reliever to win you really would have to have a season without any worthy starters. That’s not this year.

With the Twins lineup and depth the only way they miss the playoffs is if they do stupid shit like today.

Fedde is legit good this year. Why the fuck are Santana and Margot starting Vs a good righty? No DH Bs excuse. No game yesterday or tomorrow. Stop it.

Unlike last year we have legit good platoon options. So I don’t mind platooning. But Margot in CF(can’t play D) vs a righty is psychiatric.

Bases loaded no outs don’t score cause Santana Ks swinging at 5 balls. Vs a guy who can’t throw strikes.

Well, that’s the worse loss of the season.

No one but Correa gave a damn at the plate.

Get them back in the second game. Law of averages said that The White Sox would get us one time.

Yeah but just starting Margot and Santana in a game where vazquez(has to start)

Also, hilarious how Wallner was treated this year. At least he’s back.

Fucking monster. Maybe next time we shouldn’t demote a guy for 3 months cause of 25 ABs

For a closer to win it....

1. The team has to probably be the top team in the league or close.
2. His numbers have to be insane
3. A gap between the top starters

The last closer to win it was Gagne...21 years. It's extremely difficult to win

55 saves, 1.20 ERA and 137 so's in 82 IP - 15.0 SO per 9

The top SP's were pretty damn good too. Schmidt had a great year.

Strange they didn't make the playoffs and finished 2nd in the NL West so maybe #1 isn't true but it helps.

Clase's numbers through 90 games....

28 saves- 0.83 ERA only 39 SO's in 43 IP - 8.1 SO per 9 which is pretty low for a closer and a bit surprising

The top AL starters...

My opinion it would be tough to win the Cy Young but if he keeps his sub 1 era he will have a chance if he can get 50+ saves.

Britton had 47 saves and a 0.63 ERA in 2016 and finished 4th.
Kimbrel had 50 and a 1.21ERA in 2013 and finished tied for 4th
Rodney had 48 and a 0.60 ERA in 2012 and finished 5th
K-Rod had 62 and 2.24 ERA in 2008 and finished 3rd (Cliff Lee went 22-3 with a 2 ERA and won it)
Hoffman had 46 with a 2.14 ERA in 2006 - (closest since Gagne to win it and got close to beating Webb)
Rivera had 43 and 1.38 ERA in 2005 - (also came in 2nd but got beat out by Colon who wasn't even that great)

Kyle Farmer might want to do everything in his power to make sure that Royce doesn't return after the ASB(much less Martin at some point)

This losers days are finally numbered.

I mean, we know the injury is probably inevitable. But vintage Buxton is back. Hitting 450 footers and then doing shit like this
