Yep… what is worst with Rudolph we already know and people still want him playing.When you don't have a clear QB1 - this is true for everyone. The backup, next guy, or unknown is "always" better...because they haven't had the chance to go out there and show you just how wrong you are.
Sure, you get lucky here and there that the backup turns into something decent. I mean, who saw Jake Browning coming out the past 2 weeks and putting up 600 yards and scoring over 30 pts....but, by and large, backups are backups for a big reason. The love affair, IMO, comes from the "unknown" of what could be, and that allure is really strong when you are currently watching what is - and it's not good.
