I think both were dirty TBH... Garvin's hit might have been textbook/legal, but it was unnecessary. He launched into the upper chest, leading with the crown into the guy's jaw... And on a specialist he could have easily just put a shoulder into and erased him from the play.The hit on Huber was actually legal - A little fucked up in some ways, but he was parallel with Huber and Huber was in position to at least try to make a tackle.
Ward's hit on Rivers was dirty as hell. Ward was a great player, but he played dirty.
Ward was indeed a dirty hitter. He wanted to be a tone setter and he achieved it many times over. Defenders hated him, and rightfully so. I do love a physical game, and pound for pound not many people could lay the lumber quite like him, let alone a WR dishing out that much pain. He would have been suspended many times over in todays NFL.
