Yeah he most likely got some harsh ass whooping as a child, but nobody notice, still you got to try not to repeat the mistakes of your parents. Moderation in all things.

Unfortunately it usually works the other way. You're more likely to see it as normal.

Looking at the thread, I was expecting the pictures to be a lot worse than they were. They were a bunch of 2 inch slashes on the arm. He went a little overboard, sure, but none of those bruises look that bad when you realize how zoomed in they are. It's clear he felt bad about the injuries.

He deserves a conviction of what Texas calls a "state prison felony" which is a low class of felony that usually comes with probation. I'm not sure why anyone would view this as a career-ending event or anything. It's not like he killed or even moderately injured the kid. It's not near as bad, as say, a DWI which poses serious risk to any kid on the crowd. If a 1st offense DWI is a 2 game suspension, that sounds fine to me.

Also, those pics were taken at least a week after the injuries had been inflicted.

My guess right now is he does get probation, counseling, anger management etc if nothing else comes out.

I have no problem with spanking a kid on the ass, (no need to make a kid drop trow either)or slapping them open handed in the face. If they're putting themselves and others at risk and need to pay attention and never repeat their actions.

This AP crap ain't even close to okay.

Keep in mind this is a 240-250lb man with not enough fat on his body for the naked eye to see, legs like tree trunks and biceps carved in stone.....Wailing on a child with a switch, let me assure you, them bad boys will cut the blood out of you when your mama uses it, let alone a neanderthal like him.....

I've only read short bios on Peterson but I do know his dad spent a decade in prison for drug trafficking.

The legal analyst on ESPN just said that if he's convicted he'll likely serve at least a few months in prison.

You never escorted them with emphasis? Sat outside their room and escort them back? It doesn't mean you're never physical or you don't use your physical presence. It just means you don't have to hit them.

That works for a long time. Once they get older, taking away privileges makes it even easier. The teen years can be tough.

With the pictures of the kid's injuries out there, if Peterson doesn't serve time then it's simply setting a terrible example for the entire world to see.

Send him to prison so that all of the little guys out there who look up to him can see how to be a dad.

As far as jail time I think that will depend on the detailed severity of the injuries and rather this was a one time incident or if there is a pattern of abuse.

We can say AP went over the line but just remember that Adrian Peterson probably had his ass whipped as a kid, so he was just doing what his dad did. Almost every adult that commits child abuse was abused as a kid. That's how it works. It worth trying something else first.

Maybe the fact that prisons are being privatized because having a slave labor force is very profitable has a lot to do with that but that's another issue entirely. You going to send a guy who's never really been in trouble to prison for disciplining his kid the way he was disciplined when he was young? I don't agree with what he did, but how the hell is he supposed to know any better? If he were going full force then he'd be locked up on murder charges right now.

Just because he was disciplined that way doesn't matter. Once you're an adult you have the ability to choose how you act.

Peterson is being so direct and open about this that the only conclusion you can draw is that's he's ignorant. And that he needs to be educated with classes.

Maybe but if you show your kid you will not back down and their punishment will not go away (if anything it will just make it longer) they will get the message. There are a lot of ways to show firmness and strength.

Maybe the next time they won't even try.
