Fuck CBS
His personal defenders seemed to disappear pretty quick as evidence emerged. I was impressed here.
People weren't really defending AP, we were saying whooping your child, period, is fine.

After watching our awful NBA team forced to trade away our latest disgruntled Superstar, this news about Peterson is surreal. It's like your wife just told you she was filing for divorce, then you went into work and they said they were making cuts and they were letting you go as a result. I mean, not literally obviously, but figuratively.
no. honestly I came on here to find out what it actually was that he had done. My comments started over the belt is a weapon comments, then have simply been talking about spankings in general.
A 4 year old doesn't have to be spanked all that hard at all to get the point across. In fact you could probably spank a 4 year old with about a zero pain factor & freak them out enough to straighten them up.
I'm not mixed up about anything. It's not ok to hit a child, ever. We need to take a long, hard look at our society that we allow it.
I don't believe 95% of people spank their children. Just the ones who aren't good enough parents to discipline without resorting to violence.

Really? Are we that sick in the head, to think it is okay to beat a four year old.
That's your opinion, but just know you are in the minority.
The Cowboys wanted to trade for Peterson earlier this year.
That makes sense, but you have to consider this. After about age 7 when I began to fully understand my dad was the boss I never once in my lifetime ever said no to him. If he would have said rob the bank I'd have done it (hyperbole). I never broke a single solitary rule, I did exactly as he said until the day I moved out. I was never disciplined with corporal punishment after I was 7 because I was in absolute obedience.
When I was 18+ and still living with my parents I knew if I acted out one bit I was kicked out.
Amen.
I don't trust stats. I trust my own life experience and it tells me that today's world is not well behave at all. It was much safer when I was a lad and that has been a while.
I'll just take comfort in being morally right, regardless of the numbers.
That's hilarious. My daughter's teachers rant and rave about her discipline and how gracious and kind she is to her classmates and even younger students...and she would get her butt whipped when she was little. I don't have to as much anymore, because the standard has been set and she knows what it is.
Mind you, this same kid is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu beast and 99% of the time, easily the baddest mofo in class. If a boy pocks on her, she could easily choke him to sleep and/or break his arm. Yest she doesn't, even though she has received spankings at home. She maintains her cool...now if she sees someone picking on someone else who can't defend themselves, she will rear naked choke their punk ass.
So no, your generalization of parents who spank is short-sighted, self righteous, and downright ignorant.
I'm not reading 8 pages, so I'll just say this and let it piss off whomever is going to get pissed off:
I grew up knowing exactly what a switch was, a peach tree switch was my grandmothers implement of punishment. When we would go to her house to stay she would make my trouble maker brother go pick his own switch and de-leaf it, and she would put it on the fridge. ONly took one time of having one hand held about your head as you danced a jig to a few swats.
A FEW swats. Never welps or blood or injuries all over the body. Plainly put, fuck the shit out of AP. A grown ass man that lets his temper get so out of control he draws blood and the kid needs to go to the Dr? Fuck that lowlife.
