Another indication of the value of AJ Jenkins.

I hope not...they have very different skills sets at WR. I'm still holding judgment on Jenkins until he sees more playing time.

Yea his 105 yards and Td and his 3rd and 1 catch in the 4th was the play of the game as their coach elluded too

Yeah. That statline proves that he was the reason why they won the super bowl. :agree:

I think that we are not going to be targeting a WR in the draft. It looks like we are content with Crabs, Boldin, KW, AJ, MM, AND..... JOE HASTINGS... whoever that was/is.. While I think most would peg us for a dynamic WR, I think we are clearly going to upgrade our DL and our secondary

Obviously doesn't bring the impact that Harvin brings to Seattle but doesn't cost a 1st, 7th, mid round 2014, and a multi year 11+ million contract either.

He also doesn't bring the baggage and attitude of Harvin. He's the exact opposite- a great locker room guy.

He wasn't on the practice squad last year either but I think I get the point as usual.

---------

Eric Branch: 49ers Colin Kaepernick on trade for Anquan Boldin on ESPN: “That’s just another playmaker on our team.”

He was/is currently on SportsNation right now. They announced Kaepernick as a number one seed (I think?) in their Madden bracket this year.

way too early to tell, but they WILL give him every opportunity to succeed, right thru Pre-Season games. then we'll get a much better idea.

any niner nuts out there know where our cap number stands now with boldin on board? we cut akers, traded smith, etc...
would like to see us keep manningham but i'm having doubts now that we just added a 7.5M hit with boldin. i think we really need MM on the outside!

Anquan Boldin was the best receiver of the 2013 playoffs, period.

He was clutch in all the games the Ravens played.

Great move!

So Boldin and Crabs can trade in and out of the slot. We just need that deep over the top vertical threat on the outside and his name is Justin Hunter.

I like the move, now CK has Crabtree, Davis, and Boldin.

The move doesn't impact Jenkins at all because they are different types of WR.

Kyle Williams and Manningham are the ones that will feel the biggest impact from the move.

Anquan Boldin - WR - 49ers

49ers acquired WR Anquan Boldin from the Ravens in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.

The Ravens were on the verge of releasing Boldin, so GM Ozzie Newsome did well to get a pick back for a receiver entering his age-33 season and still clearing all of his $6 million base salary off of the books. Boldin adds another physical possession receiver to Colin Kaepernick's arsenal, though we'd expect Boldin to take a bit of a backseat to Crabtree and Vernon Davis in 2013. As great as Boldin was in the playoffs, he does not create separation. To fully capitalize on Kaepernick's arm, the 49ers either need A.J. Jenkins to step up as a vertical stretcher, or they'll need to find one someplace else.

LOL!!! Like he needs to - He's one of the best jump-ball WR's in the game; which is something we do not have right now. If the 3rd & Goal pass had gone to Boldin instead of Crabtree the points would have gone on the board.

Much more than Harvin unless he re-negotiates to a higher amount now that he is in Seattle.

Niners I think are only responsible for Boldin's salary which is 6 mil and not the bonuses which is the extra 1.2.
