“I don’t think you want me to turn off 11 years,” Rodgers told NFL.com. “There’s stuff that not many people in the league can do at the line. That’s not a humblebrag. That’s just a fact.

“I mean, obviously, Tommy (Brady) can do it, no doubt. Peyton (Manning) could do it. Drew (Brees) can do it. (Patrick) Mahomes will be able to do it. Ben (Roethlisberger) has called the two-minute for years. There are a few of us who’ve just done it; it’s kind of second nature. And that’s just the icing on the cake for what I can do in this offense.”

Rodgers’ comments mark the first whiff of discord between him and his new head coach, but his frustration is a familiar tune heard often around Lambeau.

“We pride ourselves on having concepts that have answers for whatever,” LaFleur said. “Now, it might now always be the best answer, but you have an answer. But when there are plays that are called that have maybe not a very good answer, we typically call two plays and we run one or the other, based upon the look that the defense is giving us. The quarterback chooses, and there are criteria: We try to teach him the criteria for why we would want this play over the other play.”

having to have your HC defend himself already..........

They should trade him to Oakland.

Top 5 NFL teams with the most drama potential for 2019

5. Green Bay Packers
Drama potential: Katy Perry vs. Taylor Swift

Is Aaron Rodgers both the solution and problem for the Green Bay Packers? Seems ridiculous. Tom Brady is the NFL’s most successful quarterback, but you can make an argument that Aaron Rodgers is the greatest quarterback. His ability to consistently win despite a marginal supporting cast and questionable coaching was amazing.

But everything imploded last year during a 6-9-1 season, costing former head coach Mike McCarthy his job. Everyone knew the Rodgers-McCarthy marriage was strained. But we didn’t know how bad it was until Bleacher Report’s bombshell deep dive that dropped in April.

The article alleges that Rodgers undermined McCarthy by ignoring his play-calling. That story also painted a picture of the star quarterback as being overly sensitive and critical. There are a bunch of other allegations, including McCarthy getting massages instead of attending meetings, and former general manager Ted Thompson falling asleep during meetings.

McCarthy and Thompson are gone. But according to Bleacher Report, Packers president Mark Murphy called Rodgers to tell the quarterback that Matt LaFleur would be the next Green Bay head coach.

“Murphy made it clear that Rodgers would need to accept coaching. ‘Don’t be the problem.”

Rodgers called the Bleacher Report story “100 percent patently false” and a “smear attack.”

In a “bad” season, Rodgers passed for 25 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. With better coaching and better talent, perhaps all will be forgiven and forgotten.

Well at least he'll now have excuses for his mysterious limping.

Rodgers is still a very good QB but he's basically a .500 QB over the last 3 years and if it weren't for a 6 game winning streak at the end of 2016 that % would be much lower . He's becoming increasingly injury prone and the Pack really hasn't done much to help him . That said the notion Rodgers NOW is the same QB as he was 2010-2015 is simply nostalgia . His numbers are still good but he's far more risk adverse which makes those numbers better and he is notorious for audibling to pass plays on the goal line ( as we all know )

Very few guys go multiple years with a real drop off in play and then regain form and even fewer do it at Rodgers age with his recent injury history

People often conflate being more talented with being better . Lots of guys have been more talented than Brady . No one has ever been better . Same is true in every sport . Talent is not the ultimate decided of greatness

10 most expensive starting offenses in the NFL

1. Green Bay Packers: $94,217,791

Green Bay tops our list despite the fact that two starters (Aaron Jones and Marquez Valdes-Scantling) are making less than $1 million. There are some big checks being paid out to the rest of the offense. Aaron Rodgers, of course, tops the offense

Bucs, Colts and Raiders surprised me.

I guess $94M just doesn't buy you much talent anymore. At least that's what the apologists keep telling us. AR has zero talent around him, EVA
