I don't care what anyone says, one of the best things that Dana did was see the holes year to year and plug them with a JC player. I hope Brown is the answer and his past seems to support that, but to blame this on Dana just don't make sense to me. I don't ever remember any of his teams being held to 7 points, or being held to less than a yard and a half a carry. On paper this may not be a great OL, but it shouldn't be this bad either

Jones was one of the worst OL we had in a long time. His grades were pathetically low.

The OL play is completely on the shoulders of the current staff. I have no idea what they did to our boys. But, their play to date is inexcusable.

We have a preseason All-Big 12.... high round NFL draft pick in McKivitz... and a returning All-Big 12... Sills... to build around. Brown... Behrnt and Wickline all got PT last year... Wickline started the bowl game... played well in the UT game after Cajuste got kicked out of the game.

This unit should be better... than the worst in the country...

This team was doomed from the start. HCNB told us to expect a bad year. OL issues and depth have already hurt us. The bar is now set low and we have nowhere to go but up.
I see the RR program starting all over again. Good players leaving or being pushed away, depth issues, losses, all made us wish for the return of Nehlen. HCNB seems to be starting the same way. hopefully by season 3 and 4 we see similar improvement.

After 2 games, it looks like Shane made a terrible hire. Every new coach hired last year has dealt with significant change and turnover... yet we are one of the worst P5 teams in the country today.

I thought you were the guy who supported our current coach, whoever he may be.....do you not remember the 2001 season? We sucked, but got better long term. Brown is a damn good coach and will right the ship, your buddy left very little to work with, so this is a total rebuild. Since you love Holgorsen so much, go be a Houston fan.........

The next two Saturdays will tell the story on this deal, NC State has similar turnover as we had, if we can't run against a Gibby D we are done. If we lose to Kansas we are really done. Got as good of a chance as we will have to get some confidence these next two weeks. I won't say RDNB was a bad hire at this point, even if we lose every game we play for the rest of the season. But we better not have back to back losing seasons. But this is not on Holgerson, BTW I will be following Houston football and I hope Holgerson does good there. He can only lose two more games this year, they fire coaches with an 8-4 record there, that is a high bar for any team every year that is not a blue blood.

I’m just messing around. I don’t think Neal is a terrible hire. I’m using the results of the first two games to point out that this looks like a terrible hire compared to all of the other new HC’s to date.

Mack Brown took over a train wreck... look at what they’re doing at UNC.

We hired a real HC with real HC experience. And, he can’t figure how to get an offense to run for more than 35 yds.

Maybe some WVU fans were clueless with all of their past angst...

Well, we're two games in. We've played the #2 FCS team, and won. We've played an DEC team that some thought (before the Wyoming loss) had a chance to make the playoff, and got blown out like they were. It's a small sample size. Things should get better. Probably not this week though. Look to be spanked again vs NC State. But then we have Kansas, and pappy says any coach who loses to Kansas or Iowa State should be summarily fired.

Take off your blinders and take a look, there is little experience on the field, Holgorsen did not do enough subbing in QB, so almost zero in game time. Zero depth left on the oline, very thin at received,

Offensive line? 3 Starters from last year and the other two had plenty of snaps..why would sub for Will Grier? Jack Allison/Trey Lowe both still there.. Wide Outs TJ Simmons and Bush...and Simms was run off!..so yeah they were light, but Brown did a great job in getting Campbell in Morgantown...The Defense is missing 3 players from last year....so give me a break

You are watching the repeat of 2001, yes, there are some talented players sprinkled around, but little experience. There is a reason that ALL the preseason magazines had us ranked 9th in the B12.........Fraud had to teach the Nehlen kids how to play his style of ball in 2001, we all worried and thought a bad hire was made, THEN we saw the potential in the Rutgers 80-7 smackdown and bought in.

Only 2 proven starters return on WVU O-line

Did you REALLY ask why sub for Grier? You didn't ask youself why he was still in games that were already won in the 4th??? The fact that Holgorsen never subbed him out shows that ALL his eggs were in last years basket.......stop making up numbers........MOST of the offense from last year is gone

Exactly. Do we have one of the dumbest fucking football fans in the country on our board... or what?

How much PT did Austin Kendall get last year playing for OU.

Get a fucking clue...

Hope you’re right. I already chocked up this season. Funny how we accept the bar being set low. What happen to the notion we are better than that? Kind of like the airlines padding their flight times so that if a plane leaves a half hour late it can still arrive a half hour early. So what if ground clutter has you waiting 20 minutes getting to your gate. They still made it on time. So if we win a game or 2, everybody is happy???
