Nah, I don't think many believe JD has staying power (no pun intended) as a legit everyday player. And there is no way in the world the Tigers accept that.

With Dirks coming back were all set on lefty outfielders. A DoubleA lefty reliever would honestly help more than Aoki, right now. (Id take Aoki long term. Hunter is about done.). The bullpen has to be upgraded, wouldn't take much to do that. (Id love to see you guys deal a prospect or two for some power. One big bat could change everything.)

However, if I could get JD for cheap like that I would dump Butler in a heartbeat and DH him fulltime.

Aoki can at least be platooned with Dyson. JD is really a DH only player if you have a roster that will allow for that.

Yep, the AL has a chance to win now without Big Game Dissappearing Verlander appearing. Although he may work great as the Tigers Closer in the post season...might be a time to Smoltz or Gordon him.

I was gonna make a Verlander joke about there being more home runs in the Derby last night had he pitched, but he hasn't been giving up too many home runs this year. Pretty much the only good thing you can say about his 2014 season.

I know he doesnt so I would be ecstatic if they were able to trade him for a solid bullpen arm. They should have traded boesch a few years ago when he came up hot, and they should do the same with JD. I remember his batting average in houston and I dont think it was very good.

I knew I could count on douggie crying about MVP. Actually IMO triple>home run plus he had a double. I wouldn't have blamed them for picking Miggy but I don't think they did wrong in picking Trout. At least they didn't give it to Jeter.
