I hope we get to talk Yankees tonight.
They won, but don't worry the 83 wins the Yankees will finish the season with will not make the playoffs.

went to the Royals/Dodgers game tonight, didn't end well but it was a fun game to watch, the entire 9 innings..
Everyone was floored at Dyson getting one past the bullpen...
The Royals need to get Van Slyke, the guy looks like a monster at the plate, monster on 1st with Hosmer and he hit one about as high as you can and not make it out of the stadium. That guy is going to hit some HRs once he gets some ABs.
Van Slyke has some pretty drastic splits going on right now. He's been killing lefties this year (16-55 with 6 doubles and 6 HR, .291/.451/.727 line), but he's been helpless against righties (9-39, 1 triple, .231/.362/.282 line), though he's at least gotten on base against them.

All those numbers you posted are included in OPS+ (which takes into account all plate appearances), so I'm not sure how much of a 'boost' RISP stats give Cabrera when it's not as if Trout stinks in those situations, and RISP situations tend to happen less than a third of a player's plate appearances.

I wasn't chery picking...right now, most everyone other than Tigers fans would take Trout over Miggy...Youth, speed, defense, hitting...in every facit of the game...choosing RISP as your stat just goes to show that you have to find something to show Miggy is better at.
Trout 2012 .326
2013. .323
2014. .307
Miggy 2012 .330
2013 .348
2014 .318
Thats 40 points. Unless the stat page i looked at was wrong. Baseball reference....but sure swing it to the tougher pitchers in the west now lol.....
On the first, it's because I put value on situational/clutch hitting. Yeah, it's maybe a third of a player's plate appearances, but it's a very important third. No, Trout doesn't stink in those situations, but Miguel is clearly superior -- by a lot. Since becoming a Tiger, I think Miguel also has something like 13 home runs in the 9th inning or later to tie the game or take the lead.
On the second, I hope that's directed to someone else, because I've said twice now that Trout is the better overall player, but I still think Miguel is the better hitter.
just let it go Cleaves, Miggy has been insaine good for a while now, he can't stay the best in the game for the rest of his career.. Everyone saw Miggy coming over Pujols and and now watching Trout coming over Miggy, its a natural occurance.
IMO it's awesome both get in conversation together these days. At least good for baseball. I still feel it is Miggy. I also know someday he will pass the torch and most likely to Trout.
Trout's BA over that span: .321
Miggy's: .334
But please elaborate on how that's "40 points."

Actually I got .318 or round up .319
Miggy is .332
Is there a different math used??
You can't add up batting averages and divide by 3 years, since at bats aren't equal in those 3 years (the years with less at bats will not affect his average as much as the years with the most at bats). If you divide total hits into at bats (456/1421), you get a .3209 rounded to .321 for Trout.
Baseballreference also has a nifty tool where you can click on a stretch of years and it does the math for you to tell you the averages and totals for that stretch for a player.
You don't have to be a nerd to know basic math, cleaves!
