Why are people giving CSD shit? Nobody messes with Nava and he's not a fan of a Central team, if CSD is as cool as Nava it will be nice to have another non Tigers fan here!

I have no issue with CSD. Nava stated his case which is very true. CSD came here flapping lips with sunshine stats for Yankees. I rebutted with stats that showed a different picture. Then the "look what we've done in the past arguement came out. Blah blah blah....

I guess I got in his head. I actaully got mentioned in signature for a few days... I am the second tool he seen on the Hoop. Awesome! I took it as I won. Was not looking for victory, just another poster talking baseball like Nava.

I recently had Dougie on ignore. The guy really makes me laugh, so I removed it. That is why I could never ignore CSD. He makes me laugh also... The IFFY style shit can stay away though.

The Tigers lol.

Verlander is washed up

Is a Yankees fan really talking about a player being washed up? CC Sabbathia, Derek Jeter, Mark Texiera, Alex Rodriguez, Ichiro Suzuki, should I keep going?:laugh3:

NY is the place where all the washed up players end up for one more big pay day before retiring. So I'd expect NY to make a trade for Verlander in the near future and then give him an extension until he is 45 years old.

I think the only team I have ever really hated is the White Sox, I have grown to strongly dislike the Tigers but that is due to some of it's fans more than the team itself. The only other team I really don't like is the Red Sox.

It comes with the territory of having a great team. Those types of fans you hate probably wouldnt have been around during the higginson years. Its just like the twins, their fans were annoying back on cbs when they were relevant. Not all of them, but some definitely were.

The only team I hate is the Red Sox, so I'm thoroughly enjoying their current 10 game skid.

I dislike a few other teams:
Tigers
Rangers
Mets

You say hate stems from fear, I disagree with that. Hatred is an extreme dislike of someone or something and is usually associated with feelings of anger.

My hatred for the Boston Red Sox stems from the 90's and early 2000's when they physically fought with the Yankees with no regard. Specifically, Pedro Martinez throwing Don Zimmer to the ground by his head in the '03 ALCS. Watching that enraged me as a diehard Yankees fan. Then you have the likes of Manny Ramirez, Coco Crisp, Varitek, Curt Schilling, and bat flipper Ortiz. Just a bunch of classless scumbags I have zero respect for. Fear? No as a fan I don't fear the Red Sox at all.

Ah it just seems like you are laughing at the tigers expense for no apparent reason. Reminds me of dabums who does everything he can to get in a nasty jab about the tigers, although I have to give him credit on saying positive things about vmart.

Also yes anger does have to do with hatred, but people hate things they dont understand or fear.

In Teixiera's defense, he's actually doing pretty well. His 135 OPS+ would be his highest since 2009.

Teixeira isnt doing awful although hes definitely not the teixeira of old. The problem with all of these guys is they should have retired before it was too late. What happened to the idea of great players retiring with a positive image still?

I hate the Cards, Angels and Rays more than the Yankees right now. Used to hate the White Sox too, but they're a lot more likable now that Guillen and Pierzynski's gone. The downside? Pierzynski now plays for the Red Sox. :L

The decline in Teixeira's BA is really weird. It's not like he started striking out a lot.

Not worth the contract he got, but Tex was still a good player in 2010-12 (.252/.347/.484, 120 OPS+ with GG defense). And of course, Tex was very good in 2009. Yankees have had much worse contracts than the Tex one.

Not a huge fan of the Cards either.

I like Pierzynski, when he was traded to the Giants from the Twins I read he would watch the Twins games in the clubhouse and it pissed off some of the Giants coaches and players. I liked he remained a fan of the team even after we traded him, now Ozzie, I agree couldn't stand him! My hatred of the White Sox goes back farther to the Sandy Alomar days and even back into the early 80's.

without Prince and Inglesis its pretty hard to jab at the tigers now...I could roll on Avila but why..nobody is saying he is great like they were Prince and Inglesis.

The Tigers biggest problem is still wondering how they can win with Coke on the team, you can have a crappy catcher and win, love Nathan and actually picked up Reed in a holds league, but Coke would clear waivers if he was placed on them.

ROFL at being in my head, that was comical. I added you to my sig because you came off as a disrespectful dickhead in your posts last week.

Jeter, Tex, and Ichiro are having good seasons thus far. You should really double check players stats before posting, esp with a screen name such as yours.

And yes, please keep going.

Obviously Yankees fans such as myself have some animosity towards Detroit for our recent playoff losses. It is what it is, I can admit that. The Tigers had a better rotation than NY.

I will now take this opportunity and  @Detroit for yet another beat down on Memorial Day, this time from Oakland. 10-0?

I bet I could hear a pin drop in the locker room after these overwhelming defeats.

I still don't understand how people can hate the cards.

They are just a fantastically run organization that does the perfect blend of spending some cash but also developing young talent.

dead the freak on...this coming from a Royals fan who roots against the team but respects the incredibly well run organization...

I can see hating some teams for some even crap reasons but the Cards, for what, Pujols wants a large contract, to the curb, and at the time he was arguably the best player to have ever played the game...now that showed balls and maybe confidence in their system (or they just aren't stupid to pay that kind of money to anyone on the planet, lol)

"great team"----...guess Oakland, Texas, ATL, CLE have "great teams"...they have all been to the playoffs lately?

The Houston Astros have even lost a WS.

I guess "great teams" can mean different things to different people, for Tigers fans, I could see the last 4 years as being "great teams" if you had to endure the back to back years of historic loss hell. I actually can see why it would appear that way. Guess calling the tigers teams "great teams" is about like Dayton Moore's mornic statement of "like we made the playoffs"...I guess I understand that it "feels" that way.

Factually, they haven't put up enough wins in a season for any historical significance, scored a record amount of runs, set a record with strikeouts, nor won a WS to even qualify in the realm of "great teams" but could definately probably qualify as "great Tigers teams", although, there have been some really great ones if you compare them.

Miggy-qualifies as "great"
JV-should qualify as "great" if he pulls his head out of Upton or whoevers ass for the last 1 1/2 years.

2 players have been great for the last 4ish seasons and if they survive their 30's better than most, might even and probably will go down as 2 of the greats to have ever played the game.

and a bonus.....Tigers fans might be able to talk up Nicky C, notice he is looking a bit Moustakish, which isn't good for EITHER team.

They're an extremely well run organization. I give them that. My hate stems from various players, a manager, and the "Bestest fans ever!!!!" gimmick.

Yankees are just kinda bland.

They did kinda set the record for strikeouts for a starting five last year. Doesn't matter to me what people consider great or elite or whatever. I get sick of reading those terms all the damn time anyway.

everyone has different definitions of greatness anyway. And if I was JV, would you blame me for not taking my head away from Upton's ass (or her boobs)?

On the hate topic, my level is low lately. The white sox and yanks haven't really mattered in awhile. Youk plays overseas. The Nats shoot themselves in the foot enough. So that just leaves AJ and he's seemed to tone down his douchiness a little with age. Papelbon though, still hate that bozo. (The Cards fans are real annoying with the holier than thou crap.)
