He batted .256/.323/.363 last year. As a LF. I have my doubts about him putting up 2012-esque numbers ever again.

His defense makes him a nice 4th OF, but that's about it.

His defense isn't really much of anything. (Ive heard there are stats that say otherwise from last year.)He throws like a girl(a la Brett Gardner)and Kelly comes in when it matters anyway. His 2012 numbers are skewed because he got hurt at the end of a hot streak.

Dirks' UZR numbers from 2013 scream SSS noise. I felt the same of Lough (and his offense) and so far have been proven to be correct with him.

LOL @ the Tigers!

What a beat down of epic proportions they took yesterday in front of their home crowd, with no lube.

The Tigers have been struggling something fierce. Every ball is finding a hole and our pitchers aren't getting the key outs they were the 1st month and a half of the season.

I'm guessing it will turn around at some point though, as I can't imagine the Tigers starting having a 9 ERA the rest of the season, as they've had during this poor stretch of games.

You have to be more specific CSD. There have been a couple beatdowns lately. Also -- as a Yankee fan, while I know you despise the Tigers as they have owned you guys in the playoffs the last 3 times they have played -- I'd worry more about your own team.

Lastly -- I'm sorry, but Verlander just looks ATROCIOUS the last 3 games. 17 innings pitched, 27 hits against, 8 walks and only 7 strike outs. Oh yeah -- the 16 ER runs (21 runs total) allowed isn't too good either.

Something is definitely wrong with him. Teams are just teeing off on his fastball now and he ends up going to offspeed pitches and loses his control. They need to make some adjustments. It is depressing watching him pitch these days.

The beat down on Saturday May 24, 2014

Losing again today 12-4 good grief the Rangers are teeing off. Do they have any competent pitchers in the pen?

I follow a couple teams for certain reasons, you should take it as a compliment.

While the Tigers may have beat the Yankees in the playoffs in 2012, 2011, and 2006., they went on to win zip. Your team fell short of the prize every time. Frustrating I'm sure. LOL

The Yankees have beat Verlander numerous times the past couple of seasons. He pitches well against mediocre teams.

and Detroit is glad you aren't the manager.

It official, now have Vmart on both of my teams, buying he will keep it up for his career year.

It was a joke, just like how nathan would be closing games over holland, shields would be the fourth starter on the tigers.

But you arent a huge tigers hater...

I honestly disagree.. He would be much better than both Romine or Avila offensively atleast..

Ok? But dirks isnt going to be catching or playing SS anytime soon. JL is no longer manager so dirks wont be getting ryan raburned.

Nos
Mr hockey

My post about homers was stating that its OK for tigers, twins, royals, indians fans to talk up their good players without being homers, not that they already talk them up. Dozier has been unreal!

You seem like you really hate the tigers specifically, almost more than you like the yankees or boobies. Its ok, I dont hate the yankees or any other team for that matter. Hate stems from fear, what or what team do you fear?

Agreed, if tigs starters could shut down an actually good lineup in the sox last year the yanks would definitely be considered mediocre compared to an offense like the sox.

I was not even in the ballpark right about Vmart, number 11 tonight?

He might have his best season ever...guess Vmart has more power than Prince.

Hats off to him, glad nobody would trade for him and I offered him to everyone for practically nothing last year and even into the 2nd or 3rd week of this year.

Vmart is in for a huge cool down, while his batting average will stay above .300 his slugging will drop to .450ish.

The only team I hate is the Red Sox, so I'm thoroughly enjoying their current 10 game skid.

I dislike a few other teams:
Tigers
Rangers
Mets

You say hate stems from fear, I disagree with that. Hatred is an extreme dislike of someone or something and is usually associated with feelings of anger.

My hatred for the Boston Red Sox stems from the 90's and early 2000's when they physically fought with the Yankees with no regard. Specifically, Pedro Martinez throwing Don Zimmer to the ground by his head in the '03 ALCS. Watching that enraged me as a diehard Yankees fan. Then you have the likes of Manny Ramirez, Coco Crisp, Varitek, Curt Schilling, and bat flipper Ortiz. Just a bunch of classless scumbags I have zero respect for. Fear? No as a fan I don't fear the Red Sox at all.

I think the only team I have ever really hated is the White Sox, I have grown to strongly dislike the Tigers but that is due to some of it's fans more than the team itself. The only other team I really don't like is the Red Sox.

I grew in Maryland and WVA and a O's fan, no need to speak of hate for Yankees. Comes with territory.
I really hate fans who live in the past. I laugh at my Michigan buddies who use the arguement look how many titles Blue has... Dude, shut up and realize Sparty has owned us lately. I don't care what they did in 19?? or 2010. They did nothing in 2010 either just used that date. I almost used it once with Red Wings and caught my tongue.

This is about what every Yankees fan uses for arguement. As soon you shut down the debate for the present. They revert to past. Who cares??? CSD stated the Yankees won more recently than Tigers. He is correct. I stated he feared the Tigers recently due to early exits from them. It did not matter he says because we went on to lose next round...weak. A real fan hates to lose regardless. With Boston fans his arguement is with out a doubt "we have more WS wins" He is correct. Boston just have most recent, that has to suck.

With that, fuck the Yankess and Sparty!
