On the hate topic, my level is low lately. The white sox and yanks haven't really mattered in awhile. Youk plays overseas. The Nats shoot themselves in the foot enough. So that just leaves AJ and he's seemed to tone down his douchiness a little with age. Papelbon though, still hate that bozo. (The Cards fans are real annoying with the holier than thou crap.)

I don't mind watching Papelbon blow games. His douchebaggery was somewhat tolerable when he was a great closer.

Im sure I could have tolerated him, if he was MY closer. But man is that dude ever an ass.

Jeter, Tex, and Ichiro are having good seasons thus far. You should really double check players stats before posting, esp with a screen name such as yours.

And yes, please keep going.

Jeter is hitting .273 with no power and is basically a statue at SS these days. I'll give you Tex hasn't been bad, unfortunately for Yankee fans, he has actually looked better than in the past and is still only hitting .248. For 23 million a year -- I guarantee NY fans weren't expecting a guy to hit between .245 and .250 for 5 straight years. Tex is also an injury waiting to happen. Only a matter of time before he hits the DL again.

Ichiro is what he is -- a guy you can put up there who can give you a quality AB, but he is shell of his former self. He is doing well off the bench for NY, but I'd be willing to wager his batting AVG by year end drops to around .250.

Jeter always had the range of a statue. But now, this might have more range than Jeter at this point:

I don't know if Ichiro's BA will drop to .250, but he needs to bat at least about .290 to even be somewhat useful offensively. He doesn't walk, has no power whatsoever, and he isn't the base runner he used to be.

JV has had three consecutive starts with 5+ earned runs for the first time since 2008. Ouch! At least he and the other starters are going through this crap stretch now, and not in September.

How long will that last? 3-7 their last 10 games.

Me thinks not much longer if they keep playing like a double A team..

Jeter was never a power hitter. A statue at SS? If that was the case I don't think he would be starting games anymore. 4 errors on the season so far, .973 fielding %. That's 5th best among AL shortstops.

Tex will have some wrist pain during the season as he continues to recover from surgery. A day off here and there will help. His contract? I agree his AVG should be minimum .300 but .250-275 is the best he'll be going forward.
Remember, he's won 3 GC at 1st with his current contract.
2012 1 error /all season. .999 fielding %
2011 4 errors/season .997 %
2010 3 errors/season .998 %
2009 4 errors/season .997 %
Tex has delivered for his value on defense without a doubt. Top 1-2 among all AL 1st baseman every season.

Ichiro is a singles machine. I don't see his average dropping to .250 (currently .338) so if you'd like to do a wager on that let me know..

I'm guessing he's implying one of them wasn't a bad start because he got the "win."

What do All-Star games have to do with defensive reputation? And you're really bringing up Gold Gloves? Rafael Palmeiro won a GG while playing 28 games at 1B one year.

Derek has had an excellent career at SS and the numbers and accolades back it up.

The offensive numbers certainly do... but the defensive ones don't.

Liam Hendriks has half as many wins in 1 start with the Blue Jays as he did in 28 starts with the Twins...
