Right along with a player from every team that juices. Baseball truly grandstands the idea of stopping PED use in league.

You probably wish more Twins juiced...

That wouldn't help our pitching.

Good try though...

Id vote for Gordon, Brantley, Felix, Donaldson and Victor before Id vote for guys on cellar dweller teams. Change it from mVp to mOp, I change my votes. Abreu would beat out Trout, to me, then. That Valueable part is key, IMO.

I do agree with your stance. I also agree that if the supporting cast was there how V would they be to their respective playoff caliber team. I can not knock a guy because his GM acts like Mayhew or the owner spends no money.

Jose or Altuve with a contender they would get considerations.

Helped Roger. Sure could not hurt Twins picthing.

The twins way is to tell them to throw slow and and straight regardless. If there are PEDS that will incapacitate your manager and pitching coach sign me up!!

Altuve isn't even close to trout.

The only thing he leads in is average and even them the OBPs are almost identical. Trout wallops him in everything else.

If the White Sox were a playoff team JA would be going all Ichiro on us I believe. (The Ol' Double Up). I understand how folks aren't down with low quality teammates/bullpens/payrolls hurting an individual for consideration in an individual award. But I don't see tremendous VALUE in any player on a lousy team.

That said, I still value stats which require teammates(RBI and Runs) more than just about anything. That's the point of hitting....... scoring. Stolen bases are nice, mean very little if your run total isn't impressive. I also hate strikeouts, even if hitters don't seem to care. (Albert Pujols, I see ya carin'. Your top 12 in my book this year.).

I hope Brian Dozier finishes higher than Torii did last year. (What a joke that he got a vote.)Last place, but the man takes walks. And scores runs like a maniac.

...tonight and last night. Suarez. with bases loaded. no outs. strikes out!! both nights with pitches in the dirt! why not let that kid play??

I'm gonna put last night on the manager. Is there no such thing as a 'take' sign anymore??? The pitcher just walked in a run, a rookie comes up with the bases juiced and no outs ... he should ALWAYS get the take sign until the pitcher throws a called strike. No exceptions. Instead, Suarez swings at the first two pitches -- both out of the strike zone. And yep, the third strike was on a ball in the dirt.

And of course, with two outs, Kinsler swings at the first pitch, too.

Thank goodness the Astros waived JD Martinez earlier this year.

no he doesn't but its your world, guess where SB's don't count for anything, maybe even defense.

Trout still number 1
the others you can throw in a hat...King Felix, Abrue, Brantley, Gordon, Miggy, Vmart, Altuva, (sorry Doug no Verlander)

a 35 yr old dh who gets the honor to bat behind Miggy and surprisingly has his career year..doesn't get to the MVP by himself...I would vote more for Miggy than Vmart...Vmarts numbers don't come without Miggy being there...ala Roger Maris/Mickey Mantle.

It'll be interesting to see who finishes ahead of the other. Miggy or VMart. Not that I think either will, or should win. But they'll both be up there.

Bums, you make an excellent point of Miggys impact on those behind him. But Victor has been absurd this year. Especially in August. When Miggy struggled and his numbers took a big dip, Victor had more than a few crucial hits.

Also doesn't hurt that he's one of three Tigers with disciplin at the plate this year. (Avila and Kelly being the other two.)

lol stolen bases? Why not just let Ben Revere and Billy Hamilton share the crown as the best players in baseball then!!! It's not my world its the world of logic, stolen bases are probably the last thing that count in the MVP voting.

Especially considering Trout has scored close to 20 more runs. As I said, aside from batting average it is insulting to even place Altuve with Trout.

And defensively CF is a little different then 2B

oh I agree he isn't in the top 5 with the team he is on, can't score runs if nobody hits you in and can't get RBI's with nobody on. Rickey Henderson he is not and Rickey didn't rack up MVPs.

But he is better than just BA and OPS which you stated.

*OBP not OPS and again the OBP is like a good games worth better because Altuve doesn't walk.

Also scoring runs as to do with the guys behind you but also being a good base runner. Brian Dozier has been hitting .230-.240 all year and has like 3 homers the last two months but leads the league in runs scored.

Mike does have Albert driving him in but as Dozier shows there is a lot more to it then just good hitters.

I was just stating that even if Altuve was on say the Tigers or Royals he wouldn't be anywhere near Trout in MVP voting. He does actually have a couple more doubles than Trout but obviously way, way less EXB hits.

More on the general topic my MVP goes

Trout

V-Mart

Donaldson

Gordon
Felix

Abreu

Altuve

And to think, you have been warned (by Nos I belive) many times to stay away from the power lines.

In serious though, sorry to hear about your coworker that sucks.
