So, Doug, you think your boys are trying to gargle Vaseline in preparation for some Ranger dick?
Another dumb ass prediction from the soft tosser slinky. We took 2 of 3. Shut them out both times. You Homers don't know jack. Maybe you and oliffy should stop letting ESPN spoon feed you all that spunk

Verlander and fulmer. Best 1 2. Punch in the game.
Fulmer is having a monster year. ROY for sure.

Well doug, Fulmer will be considered for sure. But I saw a prediction on CBS for ROY...I think he was listed 5th

BTW...Happ and Sanchez in Toronto are a better 1-2 punch. Several better in NL

It isn't a matter of if he wins the ROY award -- it is by how much. Crazy how good he has been for Detroit. He has been our best pitcher. Without him -- Detroit wouldn't even be sniffing the playoffs.

10-3 with a 2.20 ERA as a rookie in 19 starts is amazing. If he logs enough innings -- he is at 120 right now -- he will win the ERA title for the AL. Danny Duffy is #1 at 2.82 right now.

Doug...you didn't even look at ANY statistics when you made your ''Top 1-2 Punch" comment...did you? You just made it up, right?

I was surprised he was so low. Since all the players above Fulmer were position players, I kind of figured the writer had a bias against pitchers winning the award. I think he list Naquin of Clev as #1

DOUG...
THERE IS NO SUCH WORD AS "ASCARED".

No wonder Bo didn't want you as his running back at Michigan. Bo had a low tolerance for ignorance. Something Woody Hayes taught him!

Former tiger. Ricky porcello. 16 -3 . 12 -0 at fenway..
I liked him as a tiger thought Boston gave him way to much money..but he was a great 5th starter. Having a great season. But still...a good 5th starter. He will come back down to his level..like the indians will

Two superbly pitched games by Boyd and Fulmer...and the Tigers didn't pick up a game on Cleveland

Sometime Heart gets you nothing

The Tigers were playing the second-best team in the AL, in their building.

The Indians were playing the cellar-dwelling Angels in Cleveland.

Yeah, all the games count, but a little perspective is needed. Texas scored 8 runs the entire series ... ALL EIGHT off Anibal Sanchez in the first 4 innings of the series. 22 straight goose eggs after that.

Aww, someone sounds bitter. How's Anibal Sanchez working out for ya? Has Mike Pelfrey turned a corner yet?

Doug - did you even check Porcello's FIP- ? It is 88! That is not an FIP- of a #5 starter. :nono:

Doug, I cannot agree with everything you say, but I know where coming from and this thread is better for it. It appears you leave some people fraid and ascared. Yes my good man, if you owned him any more you'd be arrested for slavery.

Yes...like I said, two real good pitching performances....but the team didn't get much out of it. They didn't even gain ground on Boston in the Wild Card chase. If nothing else, however, it gives hope for next year....maybe even this year, if Norris can join the ''rookie'' party.

I notice that the Tigers have changed their tune on Zimmermann and are saying that there is no timetable for his return. I was hoping for the end of the month, as originally stated.
