In a typical season accounting for offdays- Cuthbert is roughly an average-slightly above average 3B in his career. So far that's really the only position he could play unless he shows more offense going forward. Though he could DH vs Lefties I suppose.
What's the 150? Games?

Like he's good for a W ery 75 games?

Bauer is 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA.
Salazar is 10-3 with a 2.22 ERA.

If both Norris and Fulmer are putting up numbers like that when they are 25, I'll be a happy camper. I can only guess that Smitty wants them to be pitching like that sooner. Well, of course, I would too. Just being realistic.

Fulmer actually IS pitching like that right now, but the sample is too small. We'll see where it goes this year. He is also on an innings limit (150-160).
Fulmer is pitching better than Bauer has at any point.

Id rather have Fulmer and/or Norris than Bauer tbh. He'd be a 4-5 starter for us right now too imo. And I don't really hope to see Boyd back back in the rotation any time soon.

Given what Norris and Fulmer have done so far, I'd agree. But with only 77.2 and 63.2 major league innings on their resumes so far, respectively, one can only be cautiously optimistic.

It's July 1st right now. And Bauer is set to start tomorrow at Toronto with an ERA of 3.19. On June 1st, as Bauer was getting ready to make his first start on the month, his ERA was 4.34. He's had a nice little 5-6 start run lately.

It may be worth noting that he started the season in the bullpen and pitched 11.1 innings in relief with an ugly 4.76 ERA. Since getting a starting job, his ERA in 12 starts is 2.96.

It's still a small sample size, so I'm not saying he's the shiz, but at one time he was an very highly touted prospect, I think even 10 ten in baseball if I remember correctly.

We'll see.

Agreed. But you just cherry-picked a 5-6 start run for Bauer and basically said it's not "real" or representative. So what indicates that Fulmer's 5-6 start run is?

Look at the general suckiness of Bauer when he was at a similar point though.

And I'm patiently waiting for his numbers to round back to where they were a month ago.

His last four starts have all been against bottoms third offenses. (Atl, worst. SouthSiders, TB and tAngels.)

Toronto and the Yankees next for him. One good, one not so much. We'll see.

Hahaha.

That's funny shit, Vice.

On May 26th, Fulmer had a 5.13 ERA.

Can't argue there. Just not completely sold on Norris or Fulmer until I see more major league innings. As I said, cautiously optimistic.

Contrast that to the murderous offenses that Fulmer's been facing since having a 5+ ERA:

OAK
LAA
TOR
NYY
KCR
SEA

Alright dickbreath, slob on Bauer and Believelands "Month of a Lifetime!" if you want.

I'll be over here, mostly unimpressed.

I'm not slobing on Bauer at all. In fact, I said it's been a small sample and that I wouldn't call him the shit.

I'm not saying he'll be better or worse than Fulmer. What I'm doing is laughing my middle nut off at your MiamiVice routine of discrediting Bauer's 12 starts while stroking yourself to Fulmer's 11. It's comical as fuck.

Toronto and Seattle aren't bottom third in scoring.

Toronto would be 7th in scoring it weren't for that display of HEART last night.

They'll prolly be 6th after tomorrow though...
