Also, JA Happ's last start was in Denver. Remove that from the equation and the remaining 3 games was 6.3 IP/GS, 2.84.

Fuck that noise, and take off your homer glasses. He also got shelled by DET five starts ago.

The guy's a career 4.09 pitcher. Over the last calendar month his ERA is 4.63. Over the last two, it's 4.15. If he's what you're pinning your hopes on, you're fucked.

The Detroit game was particularly bad, but he's been decent overall. Worth the money and gives the Jays offence a chance when they decide to show up.

I gotta hit the subway, so I'll be back to shit talk later :suds:

Those two games were against the second and seventh best batting teams in the majors. Blips on the radar.

Ah, Danny, I didn't realize how much I missed your Blue Jays colored glasses.

The Indians have scored more runs than ARI in 3 fewer games.

Safe travels, buddy.

I'm not saying he sucks and I agree with this assessment.

So...nuttin since 1948??? Not even play offs
Tigers from 2006 till this day. Rule the central.
All those ALCS. and WS.
Indians not so much

Yes, playoffs, since then. In fact the Indians "own" the Central, have won it 7 times. The Twins are at 6. Then the Tigers are at 4. So, if any team "owns" the Central, it sure as shit isn't the Tigers.

Anything can happen, and obviously the Indians have to lose some day, but I don't think any of the pitching matchups in this series favor the Blue Jays.

The Tiger announcers mentioned a stat about the Indians' 13-game win streak that is quite remarkable: during the streak, no Indians starter has given up more than 2 earned runs in a game.

And meanwhile, in Detroit, Mike Pelfrey is starting to out pitch Jordan Zimmermann. Tigers are relying on BIG offensive innings to win games. You can't do that every game.

In fact, I think last year the Tigers tied the Royals for most AL Central basement finishes in division history (the Tribe has never finished in last place).

Maybe that's what @dougplayer means? The Tigers own the basement. I'm not really sure.

It's pretty amazing what they're doing. I'm just hopeful that when they do lose, it's not a massive, rubber-band-snap-back thing where they rattle off a dozen losses.

Doug....

Do the Tigers need to play these next three games with Tampa? Shouldn't they just automatically give the Tigers wins...based on more HEART?

I hear that Khaki pants Harbaugh was in the Tigers' dugout during the 9th inning, Thursday night. They say he kept yelling, "Don't punt!" over and over. I think that MSU game is in his head.

I'm conceding to the Tribe to win the Central. They can have the Regular season. KC is a WC team as of now and on pace to win 88. that should get them into the WC game. And you know that KC is a menace in the postseason. When its all on the line, we will concede nothing, only winning will be acceptable. Nothing less than a WS championship can feed the Royals hunger.

The Tribe has the best 1-5 rotation in the AL, by far. I'll take good pitching over good hitting every time. As long as the rotation stays healthy and keeps doing what they're doing, they have a chance at an upper-90s win total. At that total, they will run away with the division.

The improvement shown by guys like Trevor Bauer (25) and Salazar (26) at least gives me hope for the two 23-year olds in the Tiger rotation (Fulmer and Norris).

Josh Tomlin - 3 called 3rd strikes in the first inning.

Encarnacion & Gibbons both ejected.
