Tiger's bats are rolling right now. (And Miggy isn't doing much). They need to win while the offense is hot, because sooner, rather than later, the bats will cool down and their pitching staff is not going to win a lot of games for them.
Mystified about KRod's pitches so far this season. The guy must have some great movement on all his pitches. His fastball has been under 90 in every game he has pitched and his changeup is only 5-6 mph slower. His other breaking pitches are also in the mid 80s. (He occasionally throws a mid 70s curveball). Each pitch must have distinctive movement since they are all of similar speed. Seems to lack an out pitch - as shown by Harrison's 13 pitch AB today and throwing close to 30 pitches to get 3 batters out. 1-2-3 inning...so can't complain too much.

It is kinda fun ... If everybody was losing it would be interesting, but this is much better. I'd rather battle to get into the playoffs, then back my way in with everyone playing poorly (kinda like my Red Wings did this year).

What, you don't think the Tigers can maintain a .295 team BA all year?

On F-Rod, he only has 2 strikeouts in 4.1 innings, so I refuse to call him "K-Rod". According to the CBS sports feed yesterday, he did hit 90 MPH on one fastball to the last hitter he faced. Still, his lack of velocity is alarming.

Well, when we were on CBS, he made another one almost EVERY royals game. No reason that pattern wouldn't continue. Will give him one thing, he never stops stalking, errrr trying.
