His .275/.390/.470 (.861 OPS) career line vs. the Giants is actually not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, well below his .925 career OPS. Especially if you take out Tim Lincecum and his .536/.559/1.357 (1.916!! OPS) in 34 plate appearances.

Bad luck, but even if Shark has a clean inning, he only goes one more MAX. So, he should have gone to the Pen. But yeah I think he might be a little gun-shy with the Pen. This has been a trying season for everybody.

Yep. A clean inning and Boch is mostly off the hook, but that's just how this season goes. But as I said above, the fact that Shark was limited to 1 more inning, may has well have tried a fresh reliever and an actual hitter. The odds are better than a 3rd time through the order pitcher and a pitcher hitting.
