I'm not a jew -- well, I am half now because that shit's kind of contagious -- so the rabbi wanted to meet me before he agreed to marry us so we went to that Hillstone place.

Cool story, right?

We got married by the funniest priest I've ever met. First met him at a Starbucks. He started the blessing of the food with a perfect impression of Peter Griffin.

Could be, but that Hillside has been in SF since '98, and that's the place we went. I remember the wood-grilled artichokes. Right when we sat down, fuckin' rabbi ordered me one without asking me, and I was thinking to myself, 'look, bro, I might be marrying one of your tribe, but that doesn't mean I won't go all Mengele on your ass if you try to treat me like a bitch,' but I held my tongue in deference to my future wife.

Then the artichoke was really delicious and I was glad he'd done that. Good rabbi.
