I HATE GROUND RULE DOUBLES. UGHHHH.
With Nunez' speed, it would be 3 nothing if the ball didn't bounce over.I HATE GROUND RULE DOUBLES. UGHHHH.
Isn't that the 2nd ground rule double for the Giants today?

2nd for Panik. In fact, it was the exact situation, just sub Nunez for Pence.

I cannot remember if the rule is a flat, two base progression for the base runner or if the umpire can decide if the runner would have likely scored and send him home.I still don't understand why they wouldn't let him score. Isn't that an umpire's discretion call? One that's never called?
At least Panik's bat is showing signs of life.2nd for Panik. In fact, it was the exact situation, just sub Nunez for Pence.

Thank you Marco!Just looked it up. Umpires are only given discretion when the ball is interfered with, and a ground rule double ensues. Traditional ground rule doubles (like Panik's) is a simple two base progression for all runners.
What do you all think? Is Bum done or will Bochy run him out for the 8th inning on 101 pitches?
