You are talking to the OG Gorkys fan :). I feel like teams always look to try and upgrade their third OF and there will be some Gorkys regression. But for a potential playoff team, he certainly isn’t a negative
And that seems so often, to me, to be a Quixotic pursuit, especially in a situation like this, where the outfielder is top 50 in the MLB in OPS (minimum 100 ABs) and that is after a recent slump. Typically, the guys must likely to be traded for are ones who post similar numbers or guys on the downward slide. The upgrades are rarely ever upgrades in cases like this.

It looks like a manager is making a decision to try and get his pitcher a potentially meaningless statistic (win) that could end up costing him and giving him a loss

Posey is kind of killing this team offensively. Cutch not much better.

Posey deserves hella respect for handling this staff though.
And he is still a top 15 offensive catcher. His backup, though, has top 10 numbers.

Lotta empty hits, no power. Needs to be hitting 6th or 7th

Buster might do himself some good by sitting until after the break.

Dude needs to take a week and a half off to rest up. Unfortunately, that would mean we would need to add a catcher to the 40 (Garcia is not ready), but it would really help Posey in the stretch run.

Just think. We’re only a year or two away from “Time to move on from Posey and give Bart the job”

Well, I suspect Bart would not come in and be the primary starter. He'd be the new Hundley for at least a year.

I'm not trying to see Posey deserves the All-Star spot (he doesn't) but he's still a starting catcher. But I do think Bochy needs to re-think where Posey hits in the lineup and it does seem that Posey needs some time on the dl. It seems that the more banged up Posey has gotten, the less we've seen of Hundley.

He's skipping the ASG right?

Might be too much emotional investment/connection to move him down. Whenever Boch retires, new manager might do it.

Then all the headlines and columbs will be fun to read
