Can MLB change the rule to allow 4 outfielders when Pederson has a glove on?
If Ohtani gets a special rule, why not Pederson?

Hey, I'm just trying to figure out ways to help the Giants. I can't help it if the precedent is distasteful.

I'm thinking that the rule would allow the Giants to carry a 27th players but that player has to be an outfielder. On game day, whenever Kapler pencils Pederson in left field, he has to designate an outfielder to be the 4th man. That player cannot hit and has to leave the game once Pederson is pulled. If Pederson goes on the IL, that outfielder can stay on the roster but the roster has to go back to 26 players. And if the Giants chose to send down an outfielder while Pederson is on the IL, they must call an outfielder up when he is activated. This would be a boon for a guy like Bryce Johnson.
