as much as i appreciate kt, hanson sure looks to be the better player. kt's done some (unremarkable) time at s.s. and 3rd. can hanson fill either of those backup slots?

But he is clearly not healthy. His mechanics are all out of whack. But we have no options right now. Beede blows, Herb and Johnson are hurt (is Johnson even a starter anymore??) and Anderson isn’t on the 40.

The way Samardzija is pitching, I'd much rather have Derek Holland be the 5th guy and do something with Samardzija when Bumgarner and Cueto are both activated.

If Samardzija is really hurt, then the Giants do need to think about outside options. This guy is awful right now. Sit him if he's injured. His starts aren't going to help the team any more than a scrub from AAA.
