If you could plug a guy into our 3rd or 4th line and have him score 67 points, we probably would be Cup contenders, but players on those lines do not score at that rate because they do not get enough ice or enough talent around them to do it. That's the whole point here.

You seem to think that when a guy scores points for one team, he could do the same for any other team...Lol

Schenn had 6 seasons here and never topped 59 points, despite time on the top power play unit and with some of our best players.
AGAIN Just because you say he would've played third line doesn't make it true. :pound::pound::pound::pound::pound:

Then what are you saying? Where does he play? With Giroux? Couturier has 74 points and is a +30 while centering Giroux...Lol

And you're here bragging about 67 points and +13...Lol

Schenn is 1st in average ice time among forwards this season for St. Louis.

Lehtera is 14th on our team among forwards and was a healthy scratch 20+ times.

Gee, I wonder which guy scored more points!?!

Edit: Btw, only 12 forwards dress in your average game, if you didn't know.

This just in folks:

If we dress 13 forwards, one of them being Brayden Schenn, we will have 67 more points this season.

In fact, maybe Schenn can play defense for us too and outperform Gudas or Manning.

Then, we will be true Cup contenders.

Maybe Brayden Schenn could be the first 4th line player to ever produce 67 points in the history of the Nhl.

Something about that dude. I knew he had it in him.

You're missing the point. Jori Lehtera IS on the 4th line and you're comparing Schenn (1st line) directly to him.

I got an idea.

Let's compare Laughton to Tarasenko.

Hm, 20 points and 66 points.

Take a seat, Scott, you're not getting it done anymore.

What? You don't like my fair comparison?

Lol Points from one season don't tell the whole tale anyway. Tarasenko is a far better player than Schenn and yet he has one fewer point. His track record proves this, easily.

I think it is fair to compare them since we traded Schenn to get Lehtera.

Schenn would not have been on the 4th line, but having him would shift someone down to the 4th.

Lehtera looks to be declining each season in the NHL

Can't say what the true outcome for Schenn and Coots would of been this year had Schenn stayed. He def would have benefitted from a healthy Giroux and def would have been centering the 1st line. Any way you look at it it's all opinions, but I can honestly say we'd be a better team with him right now.

All of this because you put up a MEANINGLESS comparison of St Louis points vs Flyers points :facepalm5:

However, the trade was not straight-up Schenn for Lehtera. Two first round picks are an enormous commodity in the Nhl today. That and putting up point totals from a 1st line guy and a 4th line guy tells us nothing. Lehtera was a salary dump. If we get anything from him at all, it's a bonus.

that's true, so we can't 100% say who won the trade just yet. #trusttheprocess

But for this season, if we had known we would be competing for the cup, Schenn would have been nice to have.

Hey, I usually ignore your subtle jabs, but you had to respond to mine.

That's calling it like it is.
